Very nice!
Would we be able to get sketches - and possibly even a group sketch - of the whole Marauder family (Marauder (already done), Bandersnatch, Dragon Fire, Maelstrom, Rakshasa, Marauder IIC, Nightstar (already done), and Marauder II)?

The man would probably take a couple of hours with an instant hard-on thinking about all of those

This one?
The - ***** - Mech?
I mean i liked the loadout and well i was about to buy it...but than i saw the miniature:
Although - the Dragon Fire is not part of the Marauder Family - at least it is not longer writen in the TRO 3058 Upgrade.
Same for the Falconer and Bandersnatch - believe both should have been based on the Orion (3055)

(IMO, any redesign effort should probably start with having the Large Laser slung under the torso/turret and having an over-under alignment with the Medium Pulse Laser, rather than having the DGR look like it's ready to give the Marauder grandchildren. )

Though, it does appear that the upgrade TRO 3058 seems to imply (but not explicitly state) splitting-off the Dragon Fire from the Marauder line, moving the Nightstar up to second (with NSJs being deployed in the early years of the Amaris Civil War) and leaving the Maelstrom (which hadn't even reached the construction-of-prototypes stage when the Star League dissolved) as the third in the Marauder line.

And for something of a far-fetched theory: with TRO 3058 being published in September 1995 (that is, during the time when the issue between FASA and Harmony Gold was heating up), perhaps the variation was a sneaky & roundabout way of "testing the waters" with regard to altering elements of the Marauder's design by introducing a number of "Marauder-ish" 'Mechs and seeing what became popular?

I like it. But PGI will never make a single player game, because its much harder to do so, since it requires developing AI opponents. That means considerable expenditure in development resources, and it seems PGI can't spare that.
That's quite sad because I have been spending time on other mech games, like Armored Core Verdict Day which the developers have spent quite a bit of effort in developing AI opponents and partners, that having AI partners is a main feature of the game. Somehow like Mechwarrior 4 did with its AI partners.
Lately, Hawken with its Ascension patch, has introduced an offline mode where you can train with AI bots as partners, against a team of opposing enemy AI bots. That is laying the basis for a single player mission campaign. The next patch after that, Invasion, introduced a coop mode against waves of AI bots and drones. Coop modes is another reason for creating AIs.
Without AIs, you are not going to have single player story mission modes, and you're not going to have coop modes either, and yet I find both necessary in today's competitive game climate.

well, can't deliver ALL of them, but here are a few concept sketches
don't know if I consider the Rakshasa part of the family. Will have to think about the MAD II, IIC, etc.
