I've only played them a few times so far (stupid on-call) but overall they feel similar to the Black Knight did after release in that they are a bit middle of the road unless you play to their strengths.

It has been mentioned already, but I like it very much, so I want to mention it again:

Posted Image

It has three canonical variants as of 3050: -B1, -B2, -B2b. They are pretty similar though.

However the idea of a very fast heavy IS mech seems nice, especially as I think it would look very nice in game (delivering a Mech that looks like a medieval knight)

Ballistics + Missiles? It's a refreshing mech! (in a world of laser boats)

I forgot the Excalibur: a good heavy candidate indeed.
It would be fun to see the 3 "Bro Knights" together in the game (Black Knight, Excalibur and Lancelot)

Oh yes, the Lancelot is also a favourite of mine, and features interesting variants.

So Camelot squad? Just needs the ancient Swordsman Mech....

Edit:

Or maybe the Merlin!

Russ spoke about one more classic mech in addition to the Kodiak.

Sadly, it lacks a lot of the tech needed past the -5A/-6A versions in MWO. Suppose you could manage a -1P based on the primitive -1A.

The Emperor is ok. Not sure if I would buy it with real money, but certainly with C-Bills.
Just a side note: the Emperor's production in the IS resumed in 3057; only ComStar had a few in 3052. I am fine with this, but it means Sun-Tzu did not have an Emperor at his disposal. Most likely he still "piloted" a Cataphract.

"Sun-Tzu Liao, Chancellor of the Capellan Confederation, chose the Emperor as his personal 'Mech. While Sun-Tzu is known to have piloted his Emperor into combat, most notably beside Danai Centrella in support of Avanti's Angels mercenary unit on Astrokaszy. The Chancellor's bodyguards have also secretly piloted the 'Mech into combat as a means of boosting Capellan morale with its appearance on the battlefield, while keeping their charge safe from harm. Well if you look into that event it clearly happened in 3058 so I doubt it was a legacy Emperor.

Yes... but is it IS or Clan?
If IS, is it another Macross Unseen? (and which?)
If Clan, is it another totem mech? (and which?)

Oh godz no, the early IS Omni-mechs are not great... Most of them have SHS or a badly sized IS XL Engine, and likely poor hit boxes like the Avatar or Sunder...
