I was comparing the Templar and Sunder and while originally I really like the Sunder it's lost a little for me.

Lots of it's firepower is ham fisted by being doubled up in the CT. The Hero looks epic but would be too strong if made like this so I'm sure it'll get nerfed. Yeah there are some good builds in their but it's not as good as the Templar's build variety.

I originally thought it also had FF but it doesn't so frankly the slots issue is exaggerated. Yeah it's there but not nearly as big of deal as originally put forward. Also in the pic it has damage twisting potential for days. Plus it'd also give the IS an 85 ton JJ assault that can also have ecm.

Depending on which variants we get, at most you'll get one high ballistic per ST. Maybe one high energy in place of a ballistic, if we get Grayson or the Alternate E. But since you've only get 6 slots in the RT that restricts what kind of ballistic you can shove in there.

UAC/5 or LGR

Not much, but that is something.... The Templar has lots of free tonnage, but not a lot of free crits. As I often point out, she is a real puzzle to make equipment fit, but solid geometry to make it worthwhile.

At least she can pod swap...

That being said, arm and CT mounts are low, while ST mounts are high... so but of a mixed bag there. Geo is decent to good, but free crit space layout sucks, so again mixed bag.

It's an assault with XL... hard to salvage that one.

It is not about buthurt and salt, however it is about tonnage wasted, and then your team being overrun quite easily.

Big shoulders like the Battlemaster help, along with small ST's actually...

Oh brother. I take an xl in certain assaults and do very well. This "never xl in assaults" is just ridiculous. With good twisting it's a non issue and the Templar looks to be the better of the two for twisting. Remember, we were comparing the Templar and the Sunder.

I'd say they look better than the Sunder's

Hopefully we can get a hero or something based on the NAIS variant...

It would be a great way to add the LAC/s to the game though...

Yeah, the Thanatos & Fafnir Hero 'mechs prove we will never get anything close to that Sunder Hero. Not that the game even supports 23 (!!!) weapon hardpoints.

Bruh. Do you even comp?

Like the top 1% of the top 1% can XL check you MID twist from like 5 klicks away at night, in the mist and stuff. From behind a building. In mid jump. Bruh. And we know everything in this game has to exist solely to cater to them, instead of the 80-90% of the playerbase that are Tiers 3-5.

GOSH!

If it got more generic missile quirks, it'd be a perfectly serviceable MRM carrier, and some versions have backup energy mounts to boot. Sort of the assault version of the Archer-5W.

They said the Guess the Next Mech thread would be closed 1 hour before the reveal. Lets keep an eye on it.
