[LK4D4]

Trying a reinstall after patch failure. Patch would sit at the first of three, then close (or crash, I don't know). First attempt was a dns flush. Same thing: patch crash. Second was the Repair Tool. Something about an I/O error after the "cryorenderd3d9" file, I believe. Whatever, it wasn't working.
So I uninstalled, rebooted, then let the game download last night. Woke-up to a MD5 Hash Mismatch window, telling me "The downloaded file is corrupt. The MD5 hash of the local file doesn't match that of the file on the server. Would you like to retry?" Clicked "Retry", but same thing happened.
Trying again, thinking my hard drive might just be getting old. Did a disk scan, came up clean. Disc De-fragment happens every week, but I did another just in case.
Thoughts?

EDIT: Fourth time I had to download in order to install with same MD5 trouble. Looking into buying a new computer today.

Another EDIT: After Six failed attempts, I went online for a new computer. Then got bored and did the following that ~somehow worked~...
Installed the MechWarriorOnlineInstaller.exe, did default settings for install, then opened C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\Bin32\MWORepairTool.exe, let that run TWICE without opening the actual MechWarriorOnline.exe program, and VOILA!, open the program with absolutely no problems. Put this solution up for people who have the MD5 error.

Just wanted to post that file is installed via either 32bit or 64bit MSV C++, for MWO usage that is 2010 version.

Not necessarily a harddrive issue but most likely a memory issue. You should run a chkdsk /f on the harddrive to fix errors. Everything you are downloading cycles through your ram, so it could also be unstable memory (voltages/settings/heat/etc) or have a defective stick.

Do you have your Power Options in Control panel set to High Performance to prevent components being put to sleep?
Are all the fans running and dust build up cleared out?

On router/modem, try to blow out dust build up on those, and leave them off for a few minutes before starting them back up.

What are your system specs? Do you have enough ram to remove 1 stick at a time then run the patcher?

After the patch, lot of lag, connection time is longer by far, mechs jumping across the map, temporary lockup, generally bad and unplayable. This needs to be fixed. Maybe you should test before you send a patch out. We should not be your test bed. Thanks.

On this patch, in addition to lag, disconnects, jumping mechs, and lockups, you now have this. I purchased a mech with cbills, and BOOM it NEVER APPEARED IN MY INVENTORY. Nice job guys, fix this please. Don't be that software company. Can you get this stuff fixed?

Tried to patch the game, but my harddrive didn't have enough free space. When I tried to patch again, it started downloading the install base. Tried to flush DNS. Had no effect. Now I have to download 13 gb

well great patch guys i start the game and getting a black screen absolutley nothing
no log in screen just a black spash screen any suggestions

PGI has become the "Taco Bell" of games... "what did you expect"? I wouldnt want to have PGI on MY resume.... very very sad... This is exactly WHY i quit buying mechs and spending money supporting PGI. I`d have been livid had i purchased the new mechs and had to wait a week to play them and miss any events in the meantime. I`ll lose several days of premium time that i paid for and as usual PGI won`t actually fix anything that causes these issues... Supplying updates in Torrent format would be a HUGE boon , but we cant expect someone at PGI to actually put up a torrent file . IF this game were a new car it would be a total lemon.....

Yeah, same problem here. It worked for a day but now can't get anything after the login except a black screen. My mouse pointer is visible and I can move it around the black screen but nothing else visible. Please get back to us about this. It looks like this isn't a just a problem with one player. Suggestions would be nice from anyone that could help.

P.S. I do get the login screen and I login, but then nothing but black screen at that point. Also, when I move the mouse on the black screen I can hear the little "beep" sound you get when you pass over clickable items and they "beep" when I click that area of the black screen but I don't know what I'm clicking obviously. Can hear the background music also so my problem seems to be screen display only. Can't even get to settings to try to change anything.

Alright, problem solved, at least for the time being.

It seems that a Windows 10 update is the culprit. I restored to an earlier version of Windows and it's working again. Don't know if this will help others but hopefully it will. That's what it took.

So, PGI...you might look into that Windows 10 compatibility issue when you are making patches.

The standard executable doesn't work since the last patch. The bootstrap sentinel appears on the Task Manager but does nothing.

I downloaded the patch files with direct download. Guess what? I can do nothing with them.
I ran the repair tool which took more than 7 hours to finish 'fixing' my installation which worked fine, by downloading and replacing most everything.
The standard executable still doesn't work.

What must I do in order for this game to work as it should? No, I don't want 'Steam' as an answer.

1,5 days later (+1 more on the quest of Run, Game, Run), the answer is Steam.

I have a friend who just downloaded game for first time, but the game crashes for him every time he tries to type in his password. We are not sure what this problem is but it does happen every time. Any ideas or information would be greatly appreciated.

I have the game separate from steam. This latest patch I have spent all week trying to download. Its taking 15-30 hours to download, I dont watch it all the time obviously. I think its a failure to actually install. Example; I went to bed last night with approximately 2 hours left to download but it had turned itself off by the time I got up. This is now my 5th time that I am trying to download now. virus protection is off...

apologies, it should be most of the week and 4 attempts to download. I made sure I was up this time at the end of downloading....what it came to installing the first of 2 patches I received an error saying something like 'if i continue to log off it may corrupt, accept/cancel'. of course i cancelled but it has been stuck ever since. 40 min so far without the bar moving and still on the first patch. Internet was fine, no dip in speed or dropout. On windows 10 and plenty of memory....what do I do know?

gave up, uninstalled the entire game and started again. on first attempt to download it puts the warning up that I am uninstalling with accept/decline? this is the same problem with doing downloading the patch. second attempt worked and its patching now. guess i will see in 15-30 hours. if anyone knows how to fix this problem I'm having please post.

Haven't played in over a year. Went to Win 10 last July. Updated went fine. Last time I logged in was after upgrading to Win 10. Never played a match just went to mech bays to see the changes made to it. Had Win 10 update on friday. Now after I logged in I experienced the same conditions Cryptor1 stated " can't get anything after the login except a black screen. My mouse pointer is visible and I can move it around the black screen but nothing else visible."

"drive has sufficient space" -> nice recommendation, but exactly how much space will your installer Need ? i had 4 GB free for a 750mb patch. but it appears that is not enough. i had to go full repair on a slow line after 286 and the other large 28x`s patches. Looks like you guys copy the file to the MWO disk, unzip it, copy from the unzip and the start working. how about running a checksum instead and then unzip into the target dir directly ? in unix speak thats

Having crash 99% of time on any type of map load wheter quickplay,faction or testing grounds.
Verified integrity of game files,resetted settings,tried windowed/full screen,tried lowest possible setting and all resulutions and also deleted and reinstalled the game tried everything that comes to mind nothing seems to be working.
Sended quiet few crash reports too..
Quiet decent ammount people experiencing same problem..
I just a crash on mech lab for God's sake..
