LOl yea,

Is that the "having a game after 3 years" ballpark?

But but but it's the Messiah Chris Roberts.....he can do no wrong, because no matter how many deadlines missed and extended, he TALKS to us a lot in the forums.....

Wow people are complaining about the extension of a sale
What the hell is wrong with you people

New buyers didnt get anything better than you
Your value was not reduced
The sale will end and many people will miss out

There are those who believe that so-called "exclusive" deals are no longer such.

If it were a €5,000+ item, I might agree. But for trinkets in a video game? Meh!

Since there's a general lack of clarity in here, let me offer an alternative theory to "PGI = evil" that actually fits the given facts...

PGI is following a predetermined release schedule that bit them in the butt because of problems in the art department. Russ recently mentioned in Townhall that they'd only very recently decided to make this new pack a pure Clan one; they'd been leaning towards a mixed Clan/IS pack. So when they switched at the last minute, it left Alex scrambling to catch up on the Clan artwork. But they stuck to their release schedule anyway (because it's generally the thing to do) in hopes that people would still buy, since many people decide based on the variant and hardpoint information alone (which PGI did release).

See? A reasonable explanation that paints this using real people.

Whether they didn't get much money or just decided to do players a solid, we don't know. And any claims to know lack credibility.

But while Vassago is gleefully spreading the news of this "disaster" on the RSI forums, it might be nice if someone pointed out that PGI is changing their position IN FAVOR OF PLAYER F****** FEEDBACK.

I have probably spent more on this game than anyone posting. Does the size of the wad I spent entitle me to special treatment of consideration? Nope. I am fine with people having a better chance. I am fine with people thinking PGI should sweeten the deal a little for the "trew" early adopters.

But the call for "massive reparations" and then pulling the whole "hold PGI hostage with my wallet" card? Lol. I really think you overestimate your personal import/impact to the game and it's finances, or the number of people who feel similarly outraged.

No one is going to say no to PGI giving free stuff, as an "I'm sorry", type thing, but beyond that? Folks got to get over their entitlement issues. Sorry I can't put it in a nicer, more diplomatic way Catalina. Hate to harsh another CGBI member, but you're getting a little over the top, IMO.

Wait, this coming from the guy that is always on twitter pulling at Russ's shirt tale along with a few others... lol... You guys seem to miss the point entirely of good and bad business practice... lol... I don't really care what they do, this is a BS business move... I can I promise you that we might have a very close call as far as spending goes... lol... However, as far as the rest of your comments they are just as ignorant as this business more... I am the LAST person that has an entitlement issue... Next time read what the @!#$ you are typing Illya...

I have been. As I said, sorry you disagree, but that is how you are coming across.

I've run plenty of my own businesses. And have been successful enough to be semi retired before 40, and living down in the tropics. Sorry to break it to you, but being able to admit they did a stupid, address it, and then offer some small recompense, which is exactly what they have done, is a much better business model, than sticking to an initial announcement that was STUPID, come hell or high water.

Whether or not that is enough for you, is for you to determine. PGI has always had a very helpful Customer Service dept. If you feel so betrayed, ask for your money back. But if you keep acting like PGI OWES YOU ANYTHING, then yeah, you are coming across entitled.

Spend, or don't spend. It's up to you, but stop trying to couch it in how bad a thing it is for PGI to do.

yup. And do you see me demand anything? Nope. I do explain to PGI why I won't be making this purchase. If they choose to acknowledge it, meh, up to them. They don't own me anything. But Hey, at least in a non demanding (and largely tongue n cheek manner) I let them know why.

Heck your post is what inspired my title. GGclose!

Pushing back the early bird special on the Wave III pack is pretty crappy. Some of us took some large Pulse Laser and Machine Gun fire from the wife over this... What exactly do you plan to do for those that actually blindly showed support even though we couldn't see what two of the mechs even looked like, and had only a few days to do so???

Make your minds up and stick to your guns... You look pretty silly when you fold and change your mind... Just sayin...

You paid for what you wanted...and that makes you entitled to being special? Let PGI benefit from the increased sales, you stop being such a douche about it and using your wife as an excuse for feeling slighted, you aren't a martyr. You just bought toys behind your wife's back like the rest of us.

Actually I disagree completely with your statements as you don't seem to realize the whole simple concept here. I have re-written it enough so go look over my past posts. Adding drama or stress to a marriage is not a good thing.

My wife loves when they release packs as that's one less holiday/birthday/annivesary gift she has find/get me. However, I dropped Resistance Wrath and Clan Wave 3 all in the same month... had I been less "well off", that could totally cause drama. However the only reason the CW3 happened so fast is they did the extra variant (something I wish had happened with W1 and W2 variants) date thing and DIDN'T addressed it earlier in the week but rather waited till after the deadline.

Bottom-line: They should have changed the date on Thursday at the latest as they were aware that they made a bad call on the early rewards. Since they didn't, some people incurred extra drama in their personal lives..."Happy wife, happy life", well remember angry wife could easily lead to "no more game time" for some people. Just horribly handled all-round. The OP has a point so don't personally attack him. Plenty of other people have posted uncomfortable financial decisions it put them in.... drama from something you enjoy, makes it less enjoyable.

What are you babbling about exactly? PGI set the deadline not me, therefore those of us that actually bought it have the RIGHT to our exclusive deal... Period...

Well after this, I personally will not be buying anything else unless they make it right in a big way... I have spent a TON of money on MWO but this will in fact be my last purchase with these kinds of poor choices by PGI. Yes, I'll continue to play as I enjoy the game. But, they will not see another dime from me. I'll simply convert to c-bill only purchases like so many others. As I think I have 108 mechs with 5 or so empty bays, I'll have room to play as I wish...

yup. making it right in a big way, threatening future purchases, etc....not demanding anything.

Sounds pretty demanding to me.

You'll note in my own Post, I don't threaten, swear off future purchases. I simply (and intentionally hyperbolically) tell Russ why I won't be getting the Executioner Package. Like I said, I ain't trying to make a big deal of this, but you are coming across rather over the top.

But whatever man. Rage away.

This I don't disagree with, though even a late change, is better than sticking to a bad business plan. Better to risk angering a few customers, short term, than miss out on many more, many who have been posting in forums and on twitter that the deadline was too dang short.

Russ is going to through you guys a bone, in some add on, he said, so it is what it is. Either it's enough of an apology or it ain't. End of story.

To address someone earlier, I think it was CocoaJin,

That's right...we payed for what we wanted under the assumption of a deadline. 'If you do NOT pay by Feb 28th you will not get additional content etc...", essentially what they are saying.

This is the WHOLE concept around 'EARLY ADOPTERS'...when they start pushing this forward what's the point? So next time this comes around what? are we to just assume "ah whatever they'll push it forward again no hurry...and then if they don't we'll feel screwed yet again. Their actions set a precedence. At the end of the day this is about money...and yes, I'm more than willing to put it forward, but being pressured to do so is absurd only to have it changed. Nothing is assumed to be 'owed' for this change but respect for those that did should be taken into consideration.

With all due respect, a $120 (or less) video game purchase that causes "extra drama in their personal lives" is an indication that something might be amiss.

It's a 17-day extension to something not coming for another 100+ days. Sometimes, a little perspective doesn't hurt.

PGI set the date of their own accord... You got "insert items here" for buying before stated date... It's simple...

I did not demand anything... I stated that I would not be buying more because of the shady business practice unless they made it right for those that did make the early purchase. That is not a demand, that is simply my personal opinion... And since they were the ones that put the deadlines in there, people that did in fact buy it before the deadline should in fact be entitled to that above all others. It is simple regardless of if you bought it or not... This crap of my kid came in 5th place but should still get a 1st place trophy crap is silly...

have fun... lol...

To everyone else... lol... The ENTIRE wife thing was a joke... She has not said a word about this, we have no money troubles... lol... It was a joke, there is no drama at home over pixels on a screen... Good grief... lol....
