1 year of premium time is $104. 1 year of $15/mo subscription fees is 180. Most games with monthly subscriptions offer cheaper rates if you purchase multiple months at a time, usually as low as $13 a month. You're still looking at $156.

However I still agree that it's ****** to have to purchase premium time to host private matches. On the other hand, you can do it for free if it's 12v12. It's worth the effort to form an "alliance" of sorts with other clans to have people around to help out in filling that 24 player requirement.

PGI needs to make money somehow. Where should it come from when you remove ALL incentives? ^^

6 dollars x 52 weeks is 312 dollars for one person. How many other games do you commit that much money to in a year? You want to pay that for 15 EACH to be able to 1v1? It's a bloody bad joke. We've paid these jokers enough and they continue to gouge us at every chance because sheeple like you think what they are doing is ok.

365 day premium time was $40 when it was offered with 50% off straight after 20% extra MC sale.
What they are doing is absolutely fine. I am entertained every day I play! +50% CBill bonus! :D

Have fun!!!

Cheers

OP: This sucks!

The thread: premium time is actually pretty cheap.

OP: This sucks!

The thread: and only one person has to use the premium time.

OP: This sucks!

The thread: and if you buy it for a year, it only costs a 1/3 the amount.

OP: This sucks!

The thread: you don't even need to use premium time at all if you get enough people together.

OP: This sucks!

The thread: and compared to other online games, the price is about the same or even cheaper.

OP: This sucks!

KharnZor: *facepalm gif*

mark v92: great discussion man!

because the thread keeps saying the same thing aswell.

i commented on private matches being behind a paywall when they could simply make you host your own games and not use the pgi's server.

doesnt matter how much premium time is per year.

its not pay for this cosmetic
its not pay for a shortcut
its not pay for content you will get earlier than the rest

its pay to play this gamemode.
a gamemode which is great for training people.
which is pretty nice since this game has a pretty ****** tutorial

i ask why do we have to pay for something like this?
why are you happy with something as basic as playing a private match being paid?
you want to pay 100$ (even as much as 40$ on discount) a year for private matches? + need a second guy to have that

Only if you buy MC & premium without waiting for a sale. Otherwise you can save ~20%-30% which is quite a good amount of money.

Let's all point and laugh at the pathetic peasant who doesn't want to pay $100+ a year (and convince one of his friends to do the same) just so he can have a simple ******* private match with his friends.

MWO Community:

Hurr durr he and his friend should wait for a ******* sale and do it then. hurr durrdurr he should get 23 ******* friends. You guys completely miss the point. What a bunch of ********.

You can still have a Trial with 12 Clan-mates, you just have 10 witnesses to the proceedings. If you wanted to you could even have the other 10 mechs form the trial circle ;)

Just like kendo, I like this.

Its very atmospheric :P

You wear a clan tag. You know darn well then, that trials are 1v1. Forcing a 24 man requirement, because PGI refuses to pay for a few more hamsters to spin the server wheels is absurd.

Forcing? You choose to have trials. You(or your Clan) knew the requirements for private matches. How are you forced to buy PT?

You fail to remember it is a soft lock. Get 24 players together to post 12 trials, and the lock is broken. You are whining about something with an easy work around.

so if 2 people need to do a trail i have to borrow 15min from 22 other people who wont be able to play at that moment?
remember that a lot of players only play for a couple of games a night

what you fail to realize is that its unnecessary to make people pay for a private match

"Circle of Equals"

Or you need at least 2 paying players to witness your trial.

Or you play under the rules of the game which, in this case says you gotta use premium time to have less than 24 players.

Why does it cost money for 2 or 3 people but 24 is free? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Personally, I don't have 23 friends that play anything together. I have 2 that would like to duel me in MWO, but we can't. None of us can be bothered to buy 'premium time' to duel each other now and then. MAYBE if premium time was something we could turn on and off so it's not so easily wasted.
