Although I have been in BattleTech since the beginnning and recognize in my mind's eye a Crusader, Marauder or Phoenix Hawk as the borrowed Macross visuals, I would be satisfied to have the reseen appear in MWO since no legal fight would be necessary and I could have the loadouts I am used to when playing them.

I more quickly recognize the unseen designs, and do have some nostalgia about them because thats what I grew up with. However I also really like the Reseen designs. In fact some of them even look (please dont kill me) better than the old 80's almost golden-age scifi designs. First to come to mind are the Longbow, Marauder, and Shadowhawk who's reseen designs outshine their originals. The Rifleman rivals it's ancestor as well.

But some, like the Warhammer, look much cooler in their old shape.

I like the old designs, have them all in the original Tech books, and in the RP minis, BUT enough is enough, HG can pound sand, let's move on and use some new and better designs let HG eat their old art.

UNSEEN.

The Warhammer and Marauder are "MY" mechs. I grew up with them. To not have them is just painful!

...and those reseen designs for those two are god awful!!

It shouldn't matter anymore. The mechs are solid and need to be in the game. I personally am tired of hearing and reading about this whole problem. Lets just move on. I respect the origionals and have the minis, but we should not deprive the newer generations of the designs just because of how they look. We can do better as a community more than a decade should put enough time between then and now to help even the most entrenched of us move on and play the game.

There are a few "Reseen" 'Mechs that look tolerable, but for the most part the Reseen are hidious piles of junk compared to the originals. It's a pity that Harmony Gold had to be such ******** with their nuissance lawsuits.

I like some but not others. keeping with many of the posters Warhammer and Marauder are the big ones.. but I don't care for the Battlemaster reseen. Its hit and miss with the others also.. But for playability. Unseen and tell HG to suck eggs.. get the game running. no legal hassles...

Wait, they had the Warhammer in the Unreal Engine 3, so that means maybe, they can make them with their original designs... At least the Warhammer (YESSSSS!)

Unseen for Warhammer, Marauder, Shadowhawk, Stinger, and Wasp. The reseen designs of those are just horribly ugly, or just diverge too much from the Unseen design.

The rest of the Reseen I like. Close enough to the unseen, some were improvements.

Most of the Reseen aren't bad, but the Marauder is awful. Anyway, I still hold out hope that there is a solution to getting the Unseen into the game.

Actually, thats not a Battletech toy. See that little red and white diamond mark on the left leg? That's an RDF emblem. What you've actually got is a Robotech/Macross toy. A Gladiator Destroid to be specific.

As for the topic at hand. I do like the reseen versions of the 'Hawks, but ultimately when it comes to the VF1 Valkyries, Zentradi Officer Battlepod, and the Raider X, Gladiator and Excalubur Destroids I'll go with the unseen versions.

Reseen is fine for the others (including the Zeus, which you left out of your list I think).

That said...if they put the Marauder in, and they put in the reseen version...it's going to be my primary target...always. I don't care if I lose the match, but the guy that pilots a reseen Marauder is going to wish he never spent the C-Bills on it.

Well, I have no illusions that we'll in all likelihood get back the original unseen, in particular the Macross designs. BUT, I don't think the full on reseen feel quite appropriate for the 3049 / clan invasion era setting.

I think an excellent compromise would to see some re-designs done by Alex in the spirit of the recently released "primitive" versions a la the Shadowhawk seen here. I think his vision of those would feel totally in line and please the old die-hards like myself, as well as the people who just want to see fresh wholly BT owned images in the new game (MWO).
