Weird. I have no problems dueling the Timber Wolf, Dire Wolf, or Storm Crow. I actually hope to duel the Dire Wolf because it is so squishy unless you stand in front of it. Dire Wolf is just helpless if you see it coming.

Timber Wolf is a nice challenge. Shoot out one side and it's a pup though.

Strom Crow has no damage resistance. Just shoot first and you win usually.

You nerf-needers really just need to up your game and be MechWarriors.

Oh yeah, I don't usually pilot any of these three mechs. I think they are generally weaker than other mechs available if you know what you are doing. They are just popular so they have creased a lot of azzes.

Have you guys arguing that the Jager can do everything the Timber can and the Crab is better tha the Dire Wolf, asked successful competitive teams why their drop decks consist of primarily Stormcrows, Timber Wolves and Dire Wolves? MAYBE an IS light if the tonnage is lower. Have you ever stopped to consider that?

Personally I am hesitant to apply any nerfs because that is not my style, but I can't believe how some do not admit that these mechs are the best.

I don't want them touching the dire wolf. It's been made clear to me in the last few days there's not much to fear from the dire. Been using a battle master 3m the last week and a half and on 3 separate occasions have soloed dire wolves 1 of those being a Dhaka wolf.. Once you get behind the dire it's game over. You'll rip him about. They can't turn to save their life. Pop one of the shoulders and they lose half their bite. They're just soooooooo big it's hard to miss what your aiming at. They're only real advantage is looooooots of guns.

Before any one says anything I do nt own any dire wolves

In a coordinated team a Dire Wolf is beastly. Plus, you were against bad Dire Wolves if you can get behind them in an assault. If you stood in front of me you'd die in 2 alphas.

Who cares, let them have 3 good mechs. It is fun to play against them and offers a nice challenge. They shouldn't nerf too much since the clan mech pool is rather low at the moment compared to IS.

Decide about nerfs after the next clan mechs.

My 2 cents, an IS player

It not that the Clan has 3 good mechs. Its that there are 3 mechs better than every other mech in the game.

There should be a ceiling in the game to prevent power creep. Let those three be that ceiling in their respective weight classes and buff others accordingly.

Except that they aren't.

Direwale shouldn't even be included in regards to CW, they are weak there, Moreso because if forces a "throwaway" useless light of some flavor.

This is an option. But if you do so there will be a lot of power creep and shorter time to die. So then you have to do something like increase armor and ammo across the board. This might be the way to go because people do not see it as a nerf.

To be fair, buffing all other mechs to SCR/TBR durability would actually make the TTK a lot longer. :P

(Not saying that's the best option, I'm just being silly).

I think the main promlem is IS does not have a real 75 ton mech with JJ to compete with timber wolf. Orion? seriously? We need to decide when there is a IS counterpart for the job.

I agree there is 13 current chassis in the listed weight classes. Of those 2 needs a new 55 and 75 Mech chassis to be able to deal with the clan mechs . The IS does have the edge overall.

25- Mist lynx vs Commando
30- Kit fox vs Spider, Urban mech
35--Adder vs Firestarter, Panther, Raven
45--Ice Ferret vs Vindicator, BlackJack
50--Nova vs Centurion, Enforcer,Hunchback, Trebuchet
55--Storm Crow vs Griffin, Wolverne, shadow hawk ,kintaro
60--Mad dog vs Dragon , Quickdraw
65--Hellbringer vs Catapult, Jagermech, Thunderbolt
70--Summoner vs Grasshopper ,Cataphract
75- Madcat vs Orion
80--Gargoyle vs Awesome, Victor, Zeus
85--Warhawk vs Battle master ,Stalker
100-Dire Wolf vs King Crab,Atlas

yet another nerf proposal.

if you can't beat the clans with those hilariously overquicked IS trashcans as of now, you probably never will regardless how hard you're trying to nerf the "can't protect my CT", "can't protect my legs" and the "so freaking slow, gets cored by a locust before able to turn around".

Issue is the good ones are unseen, Marader, Warhammer, etc. Can't use them.

No its more than that its a basic problem the TW compared to IS mechs. It has great fire power and range. It has great agility and it has great durability. It would be pretty much just as good without jump jets. Really in some ways it would be a bit better since it would have 2-5 tons of extra weight to use.

The IS has several mechs that would be fine IF mechs were balanced better. For example Grasshopper, Cataphract, Awesome, Victor, Orian etc. If mechs are balanced well all of these mechs should be on par with the Timber Wolf. Then it would come down mainly to pilot skill and team play etc.

DW is fine, you trade 50 tons of pure firepower for being a big, slow, low hardpoint having target.
ONLY NERF it should get is a blanket wide Clan/IS Assault turn rate nerf.

TW and SC, Mobile and hostile and durable. One of those tripod legs needs to go. NEGATIVE STRUCTURE/ARMOR to the best pods. Glass cannon. Make pilots have to CHOOSE instead of use the default min-max.

You want that 3E ST on the Timby? It has half the HP of the other pods. Make that firepower count.

This isn't directed at you Sulla. You asked for our opinion, I am giving it. The Clans were beaten through teamwork. Not individual effort. Otherwise House Davion would have been the only one to have fought the Clan fir instance. It took a coalition and unity to bring down the Clans.

So how do you beat up someone bigger and stronger than you?

You either are faster or you fight with help.

If its a team oriented game, then start thinking in terms of teamwork. Stop thinking fair and balanced and start proving we want a thinking mans game.

I do not agree on that. I do not think twolf is op. he has a armor of 75 ton mech, a heavy clan mech speed and a normal firepower for its tonnage compare to other clan mechs hellbringer and stormcrow. After quirks he is not tanky compare to most of the IS heavies. it has a way longer exposure(I am not sure if I wrote this right) time again compare to IS mechs so even with its nice twist speed, you either have to twist before the all laser duration or take a nice dmg to a specifis part. Like all other mechs it has ++ and--. Maybe IS need ER lasers?
