ABOUT DAMN TIME PGI NERFED SOME TIER 1 CLAN MECHS
I supposed I predicted PGI would eventually have to do this

Yes, yes, I did my small part to help ruin your precious untouchable 'mechs.
I think the magnitude and comprehensive scope of these changes are debatable, but the direction is indeed correct.
PGI seems to be a lot less good at guessing which 'mech people will turn to next. Sure, the Summoner and Gargoyle are unchanged but they have their own problems too.The obvious route will be higher usage of Hellbringers rather than SMNs or GARs.
Then there is that Dire Wolf. It seems odd it was able to dodge an atomic nerfbat on the first pass. So not only are the changes likely to be off a bit but just hitting the TBR/SCR left one or two obvious candidates untouched.
Maybe the whales should give it a chance before they stop pokemoning and make threats to seek refunds.
1: It would not bother me as much if lasers were not the only viable clan ranged weapons. (I dare you to try and tell me to use Clan ACs or UACs in community warfare, with a serious face.)
2: The timber and crow were good, because they were the only clan mechs that came optimized for speed, armor, and payload, in a system that does not let the clans change any of those things.
3: They nerfed every omnipod with an energy hardpoint. Players get punished for using any energy hardpoint on those mechs, regardless of whether the build is centered on lasers or not.
4: Paul (or whatever ****** that wants to take credit) went to the local grocery and bought a big glazed ham, and threw it at the keyboard with the nerf plans. How the hell else do you explain the energy nerf on the SCR-B's head? I mean, its not a big deal, if you don't want it, switch the omnipod... but it is a huge indicator of just how much thought went into this.
5: Clans are already not playing community warfare. (Yes, Virginia, even with the "God mechs" the clans just aren't playing community warfare. What kind of ******* thinks it's a good idea to nerf the only mechs they can bring to compete with the Tier 1 IS mechs?
I'm officially in the camp of "I wish someone else had the IP."
Mostly, I'm resigning myself to hoping they don't screw up the shadowcat, because that mech is the only reason I've been here this long, at this point. IF (when) they screw it up, they had better hope my friends or people I converse with do not ask me about Mechwarrior: Online. (I will make it a crusade to point out just how uncreative the lead designer is.)
Unfortunately, courtesy of PGI (and their inability to sack Paul) this IP is dead in the gaming world. Any company with creativity is going to look at the reputation of the brand (unless there is some miraculous turn-around... which would be just that, a miracle) and know not to touch it through a VPN.
Who knows? Maybe this "Release the patchnotes BEFORE the patch" will turn out to be the initial community testing and the uncreative abomination listed in the OP will not come to fruition. Here's to hoping.

402 replies... and so many concerns from the players..who have spend money on this...
and here we are with no official reply to the concerns from the community.. this should tell us all that our opinions make no difference for them..

That was determined with the multiple threadnoughts regarding ECM and 3PV.

Like ghost heat
Like gauss charging
Like JJs going potatoe
Like Omni's not being Omni's
Like 3rd person being added after being promised not to
All fixes which go about it the wrong way. TBR burn time is just going to change the meta.
Why is it a cycle of
Introduce new mech pack with "lolOP" stuff
Allow everyone to buy it for
Nerf it just before releasing another pack
Maybe I'm potatoe but there is something wrong with this stuff

Instead of hammering certain stock variants and pods, you could do the following:
- get rid of these ridiculous nerfs and introduce ghost cooldown and ghost duration... why should i be punished if i choose to run 3 lasers only on those mechs?
stop with this current procedure:

This is bad direction of the game. Like shoot in the foot.
But don't bother to write it one the forum, our devs don't read it, because they use twitter. Great who use it? 5% of the community? Good work men.

Twitter is like facebook just another social site well some of us are anti social.....
web site.
If the quirks were suppos to even out the playing field for IS WHY do clan mechs have perks?
The ONly good perk I really see on clan mechs is the lights extra structure hp and the nova's -5% overheat damage I think if we were to restore the PPC to it's former glory, and make the clan lasers the heat theri suppose to be , remove ghost heat. Clan would not NEEd perks.
and for those who would exploit the no ghost heat there's always flamers

It's funny you bring up MWLL considering it still has better gameplay.
Also being flash based on cryengine.. before MWO. Wonder where they got the idea for that?

make :
1. All clan and IS weapons the same. Same weight, same space, same damage, same range, same heat, same ghost heat EVERYTHING the same
2. All clan and IS mech construction the same. Same engine weights, speeds, XL rules, same swapping and modification of engines, endosteel, ferrofibrous,.. etc
3. Same hard point system
the only difference between IS and Clan would be, as for the IS the different Hardpoints per variant, the color of the lasers, the sounds of the weapons and the visual difference on cosmetic part
And magically, there you go, you have balance. Because, frankly, doing it the way you are doing it now, ...

Summary: Your balancing is not working PGI......(like their gonna read it
personnly we have worse issues to deal with before balance can even be done
1.eliminate or AT LEAST minimize cheaters
2.hit registry fix

negative quirks been there before clans invaded right? and why? because these mechs been too good in specific things at that point.
the same thing happens now.
CORRECT.
until double heat sinks are doubles, a NERF exists.
as for those claiming CLANNER are getting a beating.... drop as stars V's Lances, take on IS 1 on 1, let IS play as IS and then I will endorse your superior tech and stuff.
most whiners here are IS flip floppers playing clan on weekends..!

I disagree about the first comment. I think it is VITAL FOR THE GAME to always have some good and some bad mechs.
Mark Rosewater has discussed this subject widely considering Magic the Gathering.

Now that you decided on hammering things down.... how about turning down the clan ERLL burn time to 1.3 or 1.2. The reason is that this NERF bomb you just dropped is mainly targeted at MPL and ERMLs but it destroys the current C-ERLL on those chassis completely.

Seriously... I know the SCR & TBR needed to be pulled back a bit, but that could've been solved by making them less nimble, for starters, and maybe a bit reduced heat cap over all. Cumulative heat penalties on multiple omnipods is just stupid. The mouth-breathing kind.
