Yeah... what's your point? It would have been silly for PGI to cater to a minority of gamers, regardless of whatever bottomless pockets those gamers think they have. It's perfectly ordinary in the gaming industry for publishers and studios to cut hardcore features for the sake of wide appeal.
PGI's biggest mistake was making all those hardcore promises to the Founders in the first place. They weren't well thought out. But what were they supposed to do once they realized their error, go "Well, we made a bunch of financially suicidal commitments but don't feel it's right to change them, so I guess now we'll just lay down and die"? Hardly. It's a tough lesson, but you suck it up and make the decision best for the game. Their second biggest mistake was not being transparent about it.

I admit I defend PGI from baseless accusations more than I gripe, but the gripes are out there.
