I browsed through some of my latest match end screens, only came up with one of these guys in them. Peculiarily, he did 77 damage in that match and apparently spent most of his time letting everyone in chat know how bad his team was. :D

pic or it didnt happen

By 3rd party apps they mean macros for the Goose Waffle charge? Wonder how many of them were Dual Goose Whales.

No, PGI said they don't ban players for using Macros, SweetFX or TS.

Seeing on how we are dealing with PGI I wish that had stated how this guys cheated in the list. I'm a bit suspect on some of the names and I'm fairly skeptical about PG'Is ablitys.

Should we all go look at Reddit and see the "QQ I wasn't cheating! I'll sue!" posts? I think that would be a better use of popcorn.

I think this name release was probably the most obvious of the cheaters and PGI may be trying to get other people who are cheating to just stop and not force PGI to ban them. Ya know the whole deterrence thing?

You have gotten all the information you are likely to get and rightly so.

Does it give you an advantage? Does it alter the game files?

If the answer to any of these is yes, don't use it, simple and easy to follow rule on avoiding getting busted for using hacks.

Gamma changing software is always suspect, night maps are supposed to be dark, rather the point isn't it? So bypassing the night setting by using 3rd party software, that's cheating.

I would submit that if someone suspects the use of a program might result in a ban, it would behoove them to contact support to get a definitive answer before they find out the hard way.

If they choose not to because they suspect they won't like the answer they get - then they have no real reason to complain if they get nailed in the future

rightfully so?? lol, I haven't gotten any info( I wasn't banned ). Look how much confusion is out there on what is or isn't a cheat.. PGI doesn't do a great job of saying what is, look at this thread, PGI had to step in and say "yes we didn't ban this or that even though we could". Cheating is a word with many levels, and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people on the list were banned for thing most wouldn't really see as cheating but more of just being a dumb ass or not knowing better because it wasn't obvious.

I'm interesting in learning how PGI ensures these scrubs never make new accounts. PGI has said they don't IP ban, as it is very unreliable.

I recognize about 7 names on the list... sadly...one of them is our unit XO.... a second is a member who plays in a different time zone. I/We have yet to hear from the XO to see what their response (If any) will be. But cheating is cheating, especially in a dam video game, and perma-bans are appropriate if they've been caught.

LOL @ THe banned Hackers!!!!

Find them all and ban them to a cheaters universe where only cheaters can play against other cheaters......but then make it to where they cannot cheat, mod, affect, alter, change or anything to any code and give them all only 1 hit point, 1 dmg weapon with 0 range, where the only thing they can do is run around in a small circle trying to stab each other, but with 0 range, its impossible to do.

I would doubt that. Most things that might be considered a "grey" area have been discussed repeatedly on the forums (Macros, vpns, and sweetfx}, and PGI or IGP in the past have given the thumbs up on those.
