It took two engineers 6 weeks to port their game in cryengine to DX 12, are you telling me that increased FPS and resources across the board won't change MWO?

Just to be clear, since you seem to have a distaste for others making assumptions, this assumption is mostly wrong currently. In all initial tests with existing hardware, game performance is down by a couple percent consistently in almost every test. It's within margin of error in most tests, but still a consistent decrease across the board. Porting to DX12 does not mean the game will definitely perform better. In the case of MWO, one can ASSUME it would mean better performance because of the publicized excuses PGI has given in the past regarding why the game performs so slowly. Whether or not those excuses are legitimate has yet to be verified. Also, let's not forget that you are ASSUMING that because a couple of competent developers could easily port their game in a couple of weeks does not mean that PGI's developers have the time or know-how to do so as efficiently. Due to PGI's habit of hard-coding things that really don't need to be, it could be a much bigger project for them.

The graphics are great as is,I don't really see the need for dx12.
New maps, modes is what me need.

Again why can't people understand the programming engineer does not make maps? Might be needed for game modes but that I even doubt. Think of it as PGI has a custom game mode creator that we don't have access too.

Isn't this just a repeat of what Russ jumped on about making wild assumptions?

Every single report and test I've seen to date concerning DX12 shows improvements across the board, all of them, I've yet to see anything that shows a DECREASE in performance that you state is happening. Can you link some of these reports please, as I'd really be interested in reading them, as I've yet to find any negative reports on DX12, which, frankly, I'm shocked as hell about. I've never seen a DX release that didn't have lots of negative reports, so it's been quite unusual to not see any concerning DX12 so far, if you can link some, I really would appreciate it. As I said, I did graphics and modeling, this is something near and dear you might say, thank you.

I believe I saw this on ocaholic? It was something forwarded to me. As always, one source doesn't a bounty of evidence make, but I saw this before I saw any other conclusive stuff. I'd like to see HardOCP and Anandtech take an in-depth look tbh. About the only sites I trust for verified, solid-methodology testing when it comes to these types of things.

MWO running fine on Windows 10. Had to reinstall nvidia card drivers but other than that it's working fine, including other games. I would say I'm getting FPS in MWO....

Your asumptions are crap and it's funny the video I linked is on the website you trust, let me guess now you don't trust them? Or are you too talking out of your ass like the other two?

14 million Windows 10 installs first 24hrs, that's nothing to shake a stick at, I told you being free it would have a fast and high adoption rate.

That's an AMD marketing machine video, not a review directly done by HardOCP. HardOCP has done no independent testing between Windows 7, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 regarding gaming performance.

Nice try. ggclothes, forumwarrior.

Also, who is questioning the adoption rate? Their bandwidth peaked over 10Tbps on day one... that's A LOT of fkn bandwidth.

I did the Win10 upgrade and MWO took a while to load up the first time being launched.

Most of my Steam games I've had to go through and re-verify the game integrity through the storefront. But otherwise haven't had any severe issues.

I just want to know:

1. Do I need to do anything special to upgrade to Windows 10?
2. Will MWO work on Windows 10?
3. Can I have a grilled cheese sammich while Windows 10 is upgrading?

as long as your current version of windows is 7 or 8.x and is legit the upgrade is supposed to fairly painless. but of course completly back up your main os drive before doing so . just in case.
their is some outlier reports in regards to cisco vpn client causing some network issues in windows 10.
other wise than that havent seen anything to concerning.

sofar mwo looks like it works ok with windows 10
just make sure you have the the latest drivers for your vid card from nvida amd or intel.

also in this thread you can find some trouble shooting for when mwo did not launch as expected.

yes eat your sammich hopefully your win 10 experince will be sublime.

well hate to hear that,

as for nvidia drivers try the standard fixes if you have not done so already (first be sure to have the latest win 10 driver from nvidia should be 352.62 there is also 352.63 beta)

add remove programs (program and features) or whatever it is called in windows 10 now

find and uninstall the nvidia drivers if you see them listed besure to look for any check box indicating a complete uninstall be sure to check it .

after unistall is complete

go the device manager

and delete the nvida graphics adapter /adapters from the device list

reboot

once your back to desktop retry the driver install just for good measure right click on the installer and say run as admin

pay attention to the installer look for the option to do a clean install something akin to remove previous nvida profiles etc...

let that run if you need a reboot then do so ..

hopefully that will fix it.

if not there is thread at the nvida forums discussing driver issues hopefully some help can be found there

HardOCP isn't affiliated with that video AT ALL.They repost all of the marketing machine videos that they're sent by official sources. How am I doubting them? I'm clearly not. You're clearly a troll with nothing better to do.

If they were a respectable site they wouldn't post video's that they didn't believe true otherwise they are no different than Kotaku... I even said you were going to doubt it because you don't want to face facts.

Did you select custom install and wipe the old ones completely?

Well now we just have to wait until they come to a decision after deliberation.
