notice the picture in the link, a proper battle Master, not the P.O.S PGI farmed out on us

This looks like a serious win-win scenario for PGI. Let Catalyst Labs float the trial balloon and see if HG really wants to fight this to the death. I'm no lawyer, from what I've read HG has not been winning the court cases, just winning the expense battles. Perhaps this will be the real "end".

As a person who has read the GDL trilogy, many, many times, that Marauder is a very welcome sight for sore eyes.

MWO model confirmed. Though the girth would be smaller even

not a knock on Alex's redesign, as he had some pretty tough parameters to fill.... but......
do
want

THAT is a Battlemaster.

thats why I voted for the BM in the first stage of the redesign size, shape, and frankly I don't see why we didn't get this in the first place, afte all its not a H.G mech

If PGI was seriously dumb enough to try to pawn that off on the MWO Community, I really do believe we'd burn the forums down around their ears.

Are you folks really that attached to that monstrously oversized, please-God-shoot-me-now bad scifi movie bubblehead?

Because frankly that's the only major difference I can see between the two, other than the pistol, and I will stand by my opinion that Alex's rework is a much more interesting war machine than Fishtank 'Fro up there.

I don't remember a "redesing size, shape" vote.
Just a "rescale" one.

But yeah, Battlemaster is UNRECOGNIZABLE in MW:O.
Which is kind of frustrating, because pretty much every other Phoenix mech look both recognizable and quite decent (apart from Thunderbolt's dynamic weapon geometry, it's quite awful)

I'd pay big money for the Warhammer design in this thread to be in MWO. Long PPC barrel arms are a must have. If we get stubs, I will start a riot.

Hey, at least this mech pack is worth it. Seriously, who DOESN'T want a Marauder or Warhammer?

Happy about the announcement... however yeah... I dread that this is spot on. NEEDS MOAR EXES and modular camera lens lasers!

I'd love to see THAT BattleMaster in the game, as much as I love Alex's rework, that is the more iconic BattleMaster to me, that bubble canopy really is a must have for the BattleMaster, a Mech that featured a second seat, hence the large bubble canopy.

And the Warhammer and Marauder..oh yeah...I'd drop some money on those, despite not being willing to drop another dime until after the rebalance has happened, I'd do it for those in a heartbeat. Sorry grandkids, no bday presents, grandpa is getting a Marauder!

I don't. But i suppose I'd have to buy the pack just to get the Rifleman. :( Because I mean, honestly, the Marauder looks cool, but I always prefered the Rifleman.

If Catalyst can clear the legal minefield with these, then PGI can do some MWO-style adaptations of what they end with and we can go from there. It's a win-win for PGI, since if Catalyst is forced to cave then PGI is not out anything, and if Catalyst wins then PGI gets a license to print money with a "Blast From the Past" Mech Pack.

OK. This thread was posted about 9 AM my time.

Russ has been informed via Twitter, his only known form of communication.

That's more than enough time for him to have called Catalyst's offices, sat through the hold music, and sorted this out.

So all I want to know is ...

WHY ISN'T THERE AN UNSEEN PACK ON SALE YET????

While I share your enthusiasm, I doubt "that's more than enough time". :)

Actually, the Widowmaker Mechs would be the packages to sell. Warhammer, Marauder, Crusader, Archer, Wasp, Stinger, Rifleman, and Phoenix Hawk. There's also a Griffin in there, but we already have ingame, but they could include the Windowmaker Camo for the Griffin in the package. This is the 3025 composition of the Windowmakers, the 3031 composition is even larger and includes more Mechs we don't have including Unseen, so they could actually do MULTIPLE Windowmaker packages. Yeah, I know, doing PGI's PR work for them, but who cares, these are Mechs we haven't had in a MW game since MW2.
