Show it in public, with precise ranking within said tier being private.

Call it e-peen if you want, but we should know if a team's being screwed over and by how much.

I also support not showing the tier at all in-game. I have no objections to showing tiers on the player profile on this website.

I voted for "Opt-in" because I believe in player choice.

You are opening a can of worms if there is Full Disclosure. Units will then put requirements on recruitment, for example you have to be Tier 1 or 2 plus have 10,000 matches. You will then see units full of high level players only and then in turn they decimate other units with ease. Teamwork last as long as it can until actual skill starts to reinforce it, then it's smashing the opposition time.

I think you'll find that a lot of the T1 level players want to keep it private or completely invisible. Actually good players don't need the additional validation, but you'll see a lot of T2/T3 players complaining about scrubby pugs. We get enough people crying about bad pugs and labeling people as T5 scrubs is bad for the community.

We don't need more e-peen waving on the forums or in chat, trust me mine is bigger than all of yours. :)

Well, i am for User-Control...but for sure, in the end Full Disclosure or Opt-In probably will end the same.

Yeah! Now rather than debating the merits of an argument we can attack a person's skill level so to invalidate their arguments!

Maybe we can also have a minimum skill level required to post outside of the new player forums? Or maybe let high tier players instantly ban low tier players for making stupid suggestions or arguments? All gamers are equal but some are more equal, after all! (That's all sarcasm BTW. I know some gamers actually legit subscribe to most of the above mindset)

Well it's not like suddenly PGI will listen to the numerous suggestion people from al skill level have agreed upon so I guess it's all moot anyway.

I voted for gun shy. I honestly don't care what my tier is and what people would say to me if my tier was public, but I have a feeling that opt in or public always would scare new players away or cause bullying of players because people would think that because someone is of a lower tier that their opinions or concerns could be brushed off or discounted. Players should know where they stand and if they choose work to improve that, but it should be a private.

I voted Full. Don't see why it should be a secret, but the post says nothing about where this data is available. In-game, menues, the forums???

If the tier is available ingame it can help people somewhat as the team would know what to expect. However, perhaps it should not be visible for the enemy team...

its funny, how some of you are scared about someone will talk about your tier. what are you ashamed for ? Its game, jezus crist. No real life. ok, you will be T5 and what ? or T1, then what ? NOTHING.

Instead of just showing the Tier, they should make little emblem icons for the Tier we're in .

Steering wheel for T5... Gargoyle Puking Lasers for T1. That sort of thing.
Like a badge.

Opt-In.
Players make their own choice. Whether its to show off your skills, hide behind the anonymity of not letting others know how good/bad you are, or just plain lethargy that prevents you from clicking the "show my tier button".

I'm enjoying PGI involving the player base more and more

Feel it should be an opt in and that it should only be visible to me and my unit

I do not think there is anything wrong with showing it. Many games do just fine showing it. I think it can give people goals.

This shouldn't even be a question, it should be opt-in so that those who want to share it can and those who do not want to share it are not forced into sharing it. Naturally, it should be privately viewable to each individual regardless. Everybody wins.

  • This games player base is way to elitist for the size of the pool.
  • The true fans of the Universe want a good game with good mechanics.
  • As it stands now there is an okay game with too much emphases on twitch shooting, than on game play strategy. Almost every game of conquest just boils down to a "Kill 'em All!" game.
  • Why the need to add Tiers in the first place? To make the twitch meta player feel a sense of accomplishment for playing against for the giggles players.
  • The only way a Tier set would make sense in the first place is if there was a "Hardcore/League" mode to play where every player was there for the gold and not just the fun of it.
