Maybe it's time to let that baggage go, it's not doing anyone any good.
A bad attitude will not get you anything good. A positive and encouraging attitude however, might.
You seem to miss the point.
There was a time when that's all this forum was. Good, positive, targeted and in depth civil discussion over things.
Then we got kicked and dragged through the mud, for a period of YEARS.
So, a good number of us said "**** it".
That doesn't mean we won't be civil, I like to think I'm generally civil. BUT, that also doesn't mean we're just going to sit quietly when someone starts kicking at us again, be it another player or a dev. Because we SAT quietly and played nice for a little while, and we basically got told that we don't matter. So we took up arms, and got mad, and things DID change.
You wern't here when PGI tried to announce their plans to make a spaceship game called "Transverse" in which a good number of us jumped the devs calling BS because MWO was in a huge mess of a state when they made this announcement. That game literally failed on the vine because we said "No, fix this game first, THEN try to make something else." in quite a violent, pissed manner.
And guess what, things changed, Transverse got canned, and MWO's in the best state it's been in. So the "Play nice" method, quit working some time ago OP... we've literally learned over the course of 4 years, that we HAVE to be the way we are now to get results.
We ARE starting to see a shift back to more civil discussion however. And that's a good thing, the devs are more responsive [even if only on twitter and other social media], and frankly, the game is in one of the best places it's been since mid-closed beta. So we are seeing a shift back to more civil discussion, but all it takes is a small spark to turn topics into a torrent of hate and vitrol because of the atmosphere we've been in for so long.
So feel free to be civil and all OP, in fact I encourage it... but don't expect the old guard to always stay that way, because this is all shiny and new to you... and for us, we see the rust under the new coat of paint.

An honest question; why are you here? It seems you have no faith in PGI at all, so if everything just keeps getting worse you may just be tormenting yourself by sticking around.
Ok, so now I'm going to snap a little at you, fair warning.
DID YOU NOT READ MY ******* HUGE ASS POST EARLIER?! WHERE I LITERALLY EXPLAIN THAT THIS IS THE ONLY MECHWARRIOR/BATTLETECH BASED GAME WITH A PLAYERBASE CURRENTLY, WHICH MEANS THAT
WE HAVE NO WHERE ELSE TO GO.
Literally, there is no where else for those of us who have been involved with this universe for as long as many of us have been. Many of us "old guard" have been involved with Mechwarrior since Mechwarrior 2 at least, and some have been involved with all things battletech since literally 1984/85. THAT IS 30 YEARS. That is the legacy this game carry's with it. And I don't think you understand that OP. The universe MWO is based on, is 30 years old, as such it has a pedigree to match up to.
