The 'center-mounted' autocannon has always actually been in the right torso, according to the game rules. Remember, the original 'Marauder' art wasn't actually for a BattleMech; the Glaug's top-mounted gun could be 'CT' all it wanted because Macross didn't give a rat. it makes more sense to offset the gun to the right side, and it's also one of the best ways artists have of differentiating Marauder art from Glaug art.

This is a totally slap together job, but I feel that this would embody the name Marauder better.

Small cockpit, center line AC, straight arm cowls (not slanted), reduced air-intakes for less side torso exposure.

Legally speaking I don't know how it would fair, but that AC could be skewed more to the side torso, and a bit more cockpit could be revealed, and all of those intakes could be removed, I never really liked em on a mech that did not come with jump jets as standard anyway.

Wow, I like it. I do wish it looked a bit more like your concept than what the "real" thing is.

The AC/5 the 3025 Marauder carries wouldn't have fit in the CT, thus the off-center location. (And the AC/2 didn't even exist yet.)

It looks great, the upper part of the arms is what i didn't really like in PGI's version. While i like your cockpit because it looks like the original, probably the redesign makes more sense, from the game perspective (lots of windows for better awareness, a small front window reminds me of the shadowhawk cockpit).

Previous TH at least half the questions were idiotic to begin with....was this any different?

So; no nothing new, especially whats the point of a "live" twitch thing if he's just answering questions from a forum thread? They could pay NGNG to make them a video for that.

Lots of really bad, unpopular (in the chat anyways) "no" answers from the part I listened to (as I was an hour late, Heim's Reddit thread said 9 not 8pm EST starting time)

No no, I meant I was shamelessly grabbing your attention by quoting something random so I could harass you about how Phoenix Hawks are much more necessary for this game than Warhumors. You're fine.

nothing is more necessary than Warhammers......

Wait...nothing is more necessary than ME getting a Warhammer. Everyone else can have Phoenix Hawks.

There's nothing about that sentence I don't like. Phoenix Hawks are one of my favorite mechs, I'd totally take one.

That's the Marauder II, an assault-class 'Mech. The original Marauder is a 75-ton heavy.

So does than mean I can have your Phoenix Hawk? :P

But seriously folks the new Maruader is a thing of beauty. Stop trying to make the older Marauder happen. It got beaten with the ugly stick every bit as bad as the reseen version and I liked the reseen. I would like to know why Alex did the forearm weapons pods like he did though. Gives the pods an odd drooping look, but it still looks awesome as a whole.

In your opinion.

I do not find it appealing at all, Unseen or not.

I'll admit I am curious as to why they did not just do an adaptation of the new CGL art.

I might change my mind when I see it in game, but I'm not holding my breath. Every reseen version I've seen just looks weird to me. I accepted some time ago we weren't getting the Marauder as I know it, though. That doesn't mean I have to be happy about it.

This, it's always been off center in table top rules (and could never work centerline due to how the game works,) especially since they just ripped the images from Macross. And we're never getting those back EVER even in Harmony Gold goes under as the designed are stilled owned and used by Macross itself and would continue to invite lawsuits over them.

The project phoenix redesigns of the unseens were horrible, at least Shimmering Sword and Alex are doing a great job giving us art that's usable so we can move past all that legal mess (hopefully.)

Makes me super excited for Harebrained Schemes new Battletech game, all the 3025 mechs including the unseen FTW!! Can't wait to see what the Valkyrie and Phoenix Hawk look like redesigned :)

I agree with most of what you say, except for the part I put in bold.

If HG were to be wiped from the face of the earth, it would allow PGI/CGL/M$ to renegotiate the right for those Macross mecha, and possibly more from those anime.

That could only be a good thing. But, as we all know, HG is not likely going away any time soon. So we have to make due with what we have now.

Personally I was hoping for the Marauder as shown on the Mercs Combat Manual, as it's much closer to the original than what we are getting, but, on the other hand, maybe that Marauder design would not have worked properly in the MWO engine... Clipping... Whatever.

The point is, we're getting the Marauder, the Warhammer is ready to go if the Marauder sells well, which I think we all know it will.

As someone said on a previous page...

Happy days are here again!
