It's easy for mechs to sneak up on you as well, because unintuitive direction, and poor relativity of distance are both very problematic. The more I use this map the more I hate it.

You are correct. I am so used to it for orientating my legs that I physically get ill and experience motion sickness, mid-match.

this is the most idiotic thing to come out of PGI ( and they have done a lot of idiotic stuff)
But breaking what was working is simply beyond idiotic.

Realy, there is only one way to deal with this map.
Cancel your preorders, pause playing for a while and plaster the forum with mini map threads.
Sorry for this radical opinion but I am realy astonished about how stupid the devs can be to bring a s*** like this live.

I probably can get used to other changes but map need to follow our moves and rotate like before, otherwise it's useless and would prefer to disable it totally as it is way too confusing.

Maybe this is just me, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if PGI actually WAS trying to drive away the remaining "loyal" customers so that they can just divest themselves of MWO and try another Star Citizen knock off.

Russ' comments about "not needing community feedback" and "you're on an island" all the god damned time really make me think they're doing this shite on purpose.

Once they drive everyone off they can shut it all down and claim it was the toxic community that forced their hand. I can't even imagine the excuse Russ would try to come up with to explain that.

Good thing I haven't logged into the client in months. I'm so sick and tired of PGI screwing up literally everything one mechanic at a time.

Bring back the old minimap or give an option to choose between old and new. New one doesn't help for orientation, new mech symbols aren't helpful at all, seismic is now useless and on top motion sickness for many players, just get rid of it or give as the option to get rid of it ourself.

I would like this much better if the devs would put the arrow and sight cone back, piloting would be much easier.

it looks nice but u can not see your teem on the map u can not see the other teem or the way points , os it just crap what were you thinking , its very nice if you are in the army or were ( phill )
so can we have the old map or fix is so we can see map at the right Rez

The minimap is totally ******. It no longer turns with you so it's completely disorienting -and the symbols are so ******* small you can't tell the difference between an Assault and a Light unless you full screen the minimap and only an idiot would do that in the middle of a fight.

For those that tried to defend the new minimap because WoT... here's another perspective...

Have you guys thought about how WoT might be better with a radar style minimap? Food for thought...
