Surprised, as I expected to be T4. I'm perfectly average, T3/50%.

PUG only, and no meta; do mostly balanced builds.

Probably on my way down to T4, however. B)

It's not that I don't want to it's just yanks seem to lack stones and would rather basecap rather than fight.
Let's see if this is correct.  You don't like the NA servers if some "yanks" (as you said "lack stones") start to cap within 2 minutes of the match beginning, you then disco; and the quote above?PGI gave you the ability to pick server and game type, but you come in here and b*tch about the game play of a game mode you can un-check and don't have to play?  Go play Skirmish you moron.  As to "stones", perhaps your idea of stones is why we had to come over and save your island years back.......leave it to a brit, only they want their arse wiped for them then complain about the paper used.

Well I must say I was not overly supprised... I'm a little lower than I though I'd be, but halfway up to the next tier..

I guess I expected to be higher since I've been consistently doing good since I got my Executioner EXE-D.. but It can't make up for a thousand games with less than good scores I played before that.. it will take some time to get a higher tier rating..

I'll get there.. and have fun doing it..

Yes.

I didn't realise there was a Tier 6.

I ended up in the lower end of Tier 3 like a few others in this post.

I know Im not that great a player, but I was secretly hoping Id be right at the top end of Tier 3.

I have recently come back from a 7 month break, so I keep telling myself that the game "normalised" my score during my absence to soothe my wounded pride.

I am also living proof that running Mastered Laser vomit Timbies and Ebons doesn't automatically make you an awesome player by default ☺

I prefer to think of it as using all strategic options available to win instead of standing in line shooting at each other like redcoats.

A win by an early cap gives you the same reward as a loss, so it's basically pointless.

Pilots with good units and pilots mostly playing group queue are having an advantage regarding to PSR.

Drop with a large and organised group on coms usually means you are gonna win most of the matches. Pilots even if average are gonna be carried by their group. Farming down the enemy after a 5-0 advantage is gonna get you a good score and raise your PSR.

I think PGI should differ between group and solo queue - might give a better view about Tiers.

Very embarrassed indeed. Tier 4. Not acceptable. I've broken out the shovel and am currently digging my way down to tier 5 as fast as I can, and I'm not stopping until I break through the bedrock and establish the All New Tier 6! Tier 4 indeed... Hmph... Like I'm some kinda Tryhard.

I'm Tier 4... Didn't notice the power bar. So I don't know if I'm at the low end or what till I get back home today. I knew I was average or a bit below that, so no I'm not surprised.

It is not clear to me what they understand as a good match... I mean, if I pilot a light and make 200 damage did I screwed up or did well?
It is very dark yet. I know a guy that is the best light pilot i have ever seen and he is in tier 4

As I understand, PSR is based on match score. As such, just like the last event, primarily based on damage. ie T1 = metamechs and peeps with bad aim ;)

Not sure how it correlates. There were what, about 25000 give or take participating in the last event - with estimates of about 15000 or so actuals if you remove multiple accounts etc.? I managed to place inside the top 1000 without really trying too hard - and subject to getting the zones I needed about once every 6 damned hours, yet my tier is T2, with about 85 pct of the bar filled toward T1.

So, if over a week long event, playing a couple hundred games you average out to be inside the top 1000, yet rank T2, just how many people are in each tier, as it certainly doesn't appear to be linear.

Perhaps a pyramid structure with fewer in each successive higher tier?

TBH I thought I'm somewhere on the edge of 2/3 but Im on middle 3.

Probably because I decided to level Enforcers a 2-3 weeks ago :D My KDR took a good dive from 1,73 to 1,64 since then. But thats pug life. I never play in groups.

I'm quite surprised, i believed myself to be slightly better than average.

And most the time i'm buying and leveling new mechs, and only get into prefered mechs when i've had a bad loosing streak or need C-Bills to buy the next mech and those prefered mechs are IS Med's and heavies (Med's get played more due to que size).

So fnding myself at T2 with 1/2 the bar full was way more than i expected.

A lot of people are suggesting a bell curve or a pyramid for numbers in each tier, but if you want the MM to find people in the same tier to play against a straight 20% of the population in each tier seems much more likely.

Edit: Oh! and i play 100% public que

I guessed my tier right on the button. Tier 3 with a potential for tier 2....i probably was tier 2 about 1 month ago.
When the new quirks come out i'll probably rise to tier 2 since i don't depend on weapon quirks much at all.

TBH i think its warped by the Group queue. Since (assuming i understand it correctly) your PSR can never decrease if you win the game, playing primarily in groups that tend to win a large percentage of games will eventually increase your PSR to max somewhat regardless of individual skill (aside from the requirement of a group that wins all the time wanting to play with you...)

I think they should alter the formula and make it possible for PSR to drop in a win if you play badly.

Having so much weight placed on the team win/loss simply does not reflect personal skill rating. Team win/loss should have nil effect on your PSR. It is possible to have the third highest match score over all 24 players yet not go up if you happen to be on the losing team. How, exactly, does that reflect personal skill?
