Yep. I'll be hanging that Kurita banner on the wall behind my desk so I'll have the Dragon watching over me as I destroy the filthy FedRats for the glory of the Coordinator. And money. The Coordinator and money.

It'll be like the happy-shiny cooperation between the FedSuns and the Combine during the clan invasion never happened. Ah. It shall be glorious. No more "No, you can't execute visiting FedSuns dignitaries just for being FedRats. We're allies now!" Off with their heads, I say! Off with their heads!

As far as Khobai's baby comment, I think its quite the opposite. Hardcore Battletech is best with little to no customization - makes it way more fun using what a BT Mech is supposed to come with. People played differing house rules or whatever, but that's what it was to me. Even more fun putting your fate into the hands of the Dice Gods and rolling for Random Assignment Tables.
The likes seen in MWO that force open-custom with no other choice, to me, seems more like the "babying" of the franchise. Why use what comes with a Mech, when you can put insane stuff on it instead. Strip out the engine and stuff a NASCAR inside. Put all of one weapon type on for pin-point-easy-peasy-time.
In any case, this is a Single Player game (unless that MP component is reached) so it'll probably let people do whatever, I would likely play as Stock for the full challenge against the AI for a far more classic experience.

Is it 2017 yet? Is it? Are we there yet? How about now? Aaaaaw! C'mon! This is taking too long! You can't expect me to be this patient! Are we there _now_? How about now?

This. I hope there will be next to no customization at all. But I fear that won't be the case.

I don't have any complaints about what you've said.
But for now, we'll have to see where they take it.
And I like your thinking, stock, it does make it more challenging and funner for some of us.

Yep, at this point, even if noone else contributes, at least we'll get a skirmish game with all the trimmings. Definitely hoping for more than that though.
