There is still stuff that needs fixing, but there is also a lot I'm looking forward to.
The ECM change can't come soon enough. PGI has been overdoing it with the amount of ECM mechs released this year and it's gotten out of control.
I like the direction PGI is going in making IS mechs defensively powerful, while Clan mechs retain much of their offensive strength that's innate with Clan Tech. The big problem though is that we have too much inconsistency between IS mechs that are functionally similar.
I like some of the sensor changes, but there is a lot of work left to do to get the right sensor quirks in the right mechs. Right now it's not always given to the right mechs.
Some of the weapon buffs are good. I think the AC/2 heat change makes a bigger difference than people realize. My one concern is that the LRM cooldown increase is unnecessary since it appears that the weapon quirks are going bye-bye.
Frankly, we need more eyeballs and hands on experience with the changes if we want to get balance right and there aren't enough people playing PTS. It took all my time just to figure out the state of the hunchbacks. So we'll see what changes PTS 4 has, offer some last minute feedback and then I think it's past time to release it to the wild. There will be problems, but I do think it will be better than what we have now on live server.
