Nice one. So you're making that St.Cyr Armored Grenadiers Trebuchet?
Also, here's the old insignia for comparison: link

I can't believe i just found this thread.

I'm not the type to keep pictures, or souveniers.

The only thing I have hanging on the wall is a simple wooden frame containing all the patches from all the units I served with during my Army career. I could easily slip one of these into that frame, and i doubt anybody would know.

I agree completely about how the more modern insignias are too complicated. They do look more like nose art than unit patches.

If you scale a unit insignia down until it could fit on a persons sleeve, then step about 10 feet away, it should still be clearly identifiable. If the picture is so complicated that it just looks like a blur, that's no good.

Thank you sir for your contributions to this community. I hope too see more of your work.

Thanks man, I'm always happy to hear when someone with those sensibilities about insignia likes what I put together.

This is awesome! ;)
The main unit of Clan Smoke Jaguars Delta Galaxy (Cloud Rangers) has an insignia now.
Noncanocial, but it fits perfect. Good job.

Thanks for the answer.

Alright, so I've been saving up for an "ULTRA DUMP!" Today has a little bit of everything, so let's get started.

12th Star Guards. This is heavily based off the original, and I think I'll want to redo it at some point. But for now it's "good enough".
Posted Image
Redjack Ryan/Butte Hold - This region is being wiped out right about now in the MWO timeline...
Posted Image
11th Fusiliers - This was a unit that appeared in the old Succession Wars Table Top game as a "filler" merc group that was not faction speciffic. I don't think the unit made any other appearances beyond that.
Posted Image
Fighting Urakhai - I always liked this insignia. They were mercs, serving under long-term contract with House Davion. Eventually they were destroyed in Taurian Space while attempting to flee the ravages of the FedCom civil war. I was always a bit disappointed by this, because I thought they had more potential...
Posted Image
...what I really wanted for them was to form a 5th Regiment of the Ceti Hussars, as happened with the Lexington Combat Group. Oh well, now it'll never happen! The image below is my take on what such an insignia would look like.
Posted Image
Old Insignia for the Lone Wolves merc group. I understand the colors were later changed?
Posted Image
Black Omen, mostly for fun.
Posted Image
Warrior House Tsang Xiao. I'll be revisiting this VERY soon with a better version.
Posted Image
While they exist now (3049), the Aragon Borderers will eventually be destroyed in the Jihad, and New Aragon will later fall to the Capellans (who owned the planet earlier anyway). This is my take on what an Aragon Borderers insignia might look like if the unit was reconstituted by House Liao.
Posted Image
Lastly, a very simple image of clan Smoke Jaguar's Nu Galaxy.
Posted Image
Thanks for looking around, and goodnight!

I only have one small nitpick with this... the white hand on here, even though it's BattleTech, was an homage to The Uruk'hai from Lord of the Rings fame. The hand is supposed to be spread out and looking like someone took white paint to the bottom of their hand, and then smashed it against a flat surface. Otherwise, excellent rendition.

I don't remember, did you already find and do an insignia for Fist of Mokal, Hayden?

I understand about the Urakhai being "borrowed" from LOTR, however every Fighting Urakhai insignia that is part of the BT canon has been presented in this manner. An alternate wouldn't be hard to do, if you'd like me to.

I have not done Fist of Mokal just yet, it's on the agenda.

ED: As always, good to hear from you.

Hayden, could I ask you something?

Have you ever remade the Shepard's Mounted Fusiliers insignia? I mean, it's one of the most unique insignias I have ever seen. I'm speaking about the old insignia from the Housebook House Liao, not the newer ones.

I was just interested if you ever remade that insignia of a bear looking down upon an APC.
