you do realize that for every person complaining about voting, there are just as many supporting it?
I'm personally fine with it. At least now that it's weighted so I can pick what I want every 3rd match or so, but get a heck of a lot faster MM and more variety again to boot.
Maybe I'm just not an empathetic fella, but I have little pity for those complaining they can't play one mode all the time.
Honestly, I'd rather they go full random, but this works for me, too.

So, now we have this.
And, it's fine by my unit and I, since we can play any map, any mode, any time.

I'm fed up with this problem because it's a half-assed solution to the lack of decent game modes. Rather than making the modes better so that people would want to play them, they just tossed everyone in the same bucket. I never had an issue with wait times. I don't know who did. Maybe the Conquest purist playing in a non-prime time zone on a low-pop server...I dunno. But now, rather than just being able to chill on a nice stretch of whichever mode I might be in the mood to play that night, I'm dumped into modes I don't want to play. Gee, thanks for the quick match, but instead of time spent waiting for a mode I'd rather play, my time is wasted on one I don't.
That's great that those of you who are ambivalent on the mode you play. This system fits your needs. The old one does too. Stop dumping on those trying to make the game better for them (and you).

Look brah, the only way this is gonna work is if no one is happy. The next step is to implement feral mechs that walk around the battlefield distributing swords on a first come, first serve basis.

Odd. Don't recall ever pitching a fit about random.

lol....
most players have no idea if the maps are good or bad...because no matter how much of a map there is to play and fight on, 99% of players, Tier 1 thru 5, scrub to Comp run for whatever is the biggest geographic feature and ignore the rest.
Whole lower section of Alpine is great for fighting....but the lemmings all head for Candy Mountain.
And if maps were made "how the lemming wanted" it would all be near featureless, cookie cutter maps with low heat, great sightlines, and the least possible tactical options.
Because again, from Scrub to Comp, Maps to Modes to Builds, it's follow the vanilla leader.

Just game the system and then try to spend your big multiplier on a map and mode that you want. The rest you play "random" (because the others also actively game the system and this makes the choice unpredictable).
I think that's fair: you probably get what you want one-two times in ten trials, no?

12 votes worth
7 is the highest I have ever seen, since it appears to be an autowin scenario at that point.
Though depending on who else has what multiplier, there is some chance one could force it higher, but even past 4, gets increasingly difficult, and so far, rather pointless, since you would really have to face a unified vote at that point to not win.... and that almost never happens.

Why in the world would anyone be fine with being forced to do what they dont want to do?
And for those who keep bringing up the Map vote, Im not talking about Maps, Its the game mode , and lets face it many people who are fine with it , dont know about different game modes , or like I said just play Skirm whatever the game mode.
I challenge the devs. to spend a night and try to play anything but skirm , And then come out on the forums and tell truthfully how many "other Modes" just turn into Skirm .
as it is We have not seen any Dev. come and say anything about it.
and PS
people are really leaving the game over this so you can say anything you want to be smarter or Better , but if you care about the game , and not trying to prove how cool, smart, better, ect ect ect you are !
PPS
I would rather stay off the forms and play the game , I have not cancelled my IIC pact, My marauder pact my Warhammer pact , or my Rifleman pacts.
But Im Complaining and whining just like I did when they said they had no plans to implement "ChainFire" or when I asked if we could some how test drive mechs before we buy them,
or when I suggested we get player controlled Drop ships er ''''''' OK I lost that one ,
but you get what Im trying to say, I want the game to be better , not worse, or "JUST FINE WITH IT"
Those are all COP OUTS And the voice of losers to me, and if A loyal fan of Mechwarrior is anything, we are all "A" type personality s ( I swear thats why some of you are fighting us on this, you just saw a fight and need to win)
But what about the game ?
can you at least admit that we have a point , and that is Skirmish players often (not always) often play every mode as Skirmish,
and that ruins the fun , getting a game mode every 7th or 8th time is fine and dandy but not if half the players are playing it as Skirmish.
I Never give up , sometimes I give in , but never quit.
Finn.

So you speak for all the "loyal fans" now?
*looks back across his account history" so what constitutes "loyal"?
Spending money? Check
Buying mech packs? Check
Buying founder pack? Check
Logging hundreds of hours playing? Check
Countless hours posting feedback? Check
Hours conversing with Devs? Check
I like the voting system. I guess that makes me "disloyal"? lol

That may be the case, but part of the reason we are forced into this nonsense is because the population has shrunk. As such I'm having a hard time understanding how pissing off half the population with the voting system is supposed to help.
