I like the random spawn locations. Unfortunately, the dropships ruin it by being visible to the other team from across the map. No moments of suspense wondering where the enemy is. No need to scout ahead and report their location.

I hope they can make the dropships a little more stealthy as they fly out.

Free ECM for the poor! Or just pack ERLLs on Mechs with energy range quirks and take it out for a spin Posted Image

Or Radar Derp and use the vast amounts of concealment to break LoS

And the number of Derps who test their weapons in the air right away...........

theres only shallow cover though. lrms fly right over it.

just take a narc light and start narcing the enemy team. if you have 2-3 lrm boats its instant win for your team.

because there is no deep cover to hide from lrms. once you narc someone its literally a death sentence.

Doesn't ECM still instantly clear narc? Sounds like a duty for your light or medium ECM escort to handle.

Bring LLs, c-LPLs and radar dep, **** on LRM boats, enjoy their tears. There are enough slopes to brake LoS easy.

On the other hand, there are not nearly enough cover to move brawlers within 300m before gettin picked apart by 5-600m range weapons.

This map is meta-fest at its best, loving it.

Narcferret says hello... both to your ecms and to your radar derps

XD

had like 5 or 6 matches in the new map. Narcs with a couple LRM boats just annihilate the enemy

If you narc the ECM mech, narc counters the ECM for narc's duration

If you narc an enemy mech and it runs into another enemy mech's ECM, your narc gets negated while its in the ECM radius (but it doesnt get "cleared")

You generally wanna narc the ECM mechs first (starting with the slower ones like D-DCs) and make sure the LRM boats take them out before you start narcing other mechs.

my experience as well. NARC with 2+ lrm boats is pretty much autowin on the new map.

Guess I've never had it pop back up after hopping into an ECM bubble myself.

NARC's duration is pretty short thats why. On my narctic cheetah with enhanced narc I believe its only like 39 seconds...

This an LRM paradise. If you are pugging it and do not bring and ECM mech and your team lacks ECM....you are doomed. The LRM rain ....ugh.

Its not as lrm friendly as people are making it out to be. People are TRYING more lrms on it I'm sure, but it really isn't that bad. There is a ton of cover in the form of small hills, ridges, and trenches. My first match was in an srm timbie and I got within range without getting shot at. If your wandering into the open too much, then check it out in testing grounds until you get the feel for it.

This is one of the best maps they've produced. Its a colder canyon network with enough space to fight anywhere. I wouldn't mind one or two big hills somewhere on it, but I'm afraid people would gravitate to them so maybe its for the best. The Grand Tetons Effect.

My new favorite map, if anyone hasnt checked it out yet, its freaking majestic.
Very oldschool mechwarrior, LOTS of open ground, but its not always visible, think canyon network meets frozen city meets alpine peaks.

Long range will be very powerful but the brawlers can use good tactics and manuvering to get right on top of you before you can even see them,

LOVE
THE
MAP
THX PGI

I KNOW RIGHT!? iT'S F***ING GREAT. IT FELT LIKE ORANGE JUICE FOR MY EYES!

That is to say it's a brand new hi-def map without brown stuff, fog, too-dark nights, or dense tree cover, VERY refreshing, thx PGI.

I don't think PGI learned their lesson when they made the cap points to far apart in alpine peaks.

Stay out of the middle.

Use lights to scout.

Then decide how to approach the enemy in cover.

If you run to the middle of the map any half awake team will crush you.

That's why some love it, some hate it.

Great map, unless its on assault mode. Only lights can possible get back in time to defend because it is so dang big. But it is such a great skirmish map. Thanks PGI!

I feel like this map actually promotes mixed loadouts since you can spend a fair amount of time at long range/maneuvering and softening stuff up, but end up using the trenches to dive in when it's time. So far PPC + ML + SRM Warhammer loadouts have served me very well here.

Love this map. Deathballing in a pack is the worst thing you can do , especially in the middle , and battles actually lasting a while , ECM cover and scouting matters at times etc.

Don't go too far is the key. Pay attention to who all is in your team; fast lights? You all slow? Mind your distance in assault based on that. Pay attention to the map; the game turns into a slaughter if you can catch the other team in a bad position and push to keep them from moving to cover in time.

It's the most strategic map in the game right now, all CW maps included. By a huge stretch, I love it.

Dusk and Night mode make the map look better instead of ...well pitch black can't actually see the map.

One of the positive points.

Kind of happy for this. The only way to counter the lrms will be faster moving mechs. Maybe now in group Q there will be less than 8 assaults on one team.

With current tonnage limits you cant have 8 assaults in 12 man thats for sure.

Thermal actually works quite well on this map, for some reason. I feel like i can see much father then normally.
