Don't push middle.

Scout, try to trap other team in bad position. There's tons of cover just not in the center.

Flanking actually works on this map.

Play smart and LRM boats are food here just like anywhere else.

The map is waaay too empty

they couldve at least made an effort to put some crashed dropships or something on the map

The problem with this, and all the other knee-jerk replies above, is the fact that they completely ignore the fact that this map makes any kind of short range brawler mech utterly useless.

"hang back" - right, so the idea here is to just hide in a canyon and let the rest of your team carry you? I don't know about you lot, but I play this game for FUN, not to cower in a hole whilst everyone else does the work.

"scout" - mmm, that works really well in an atlas, you guys just wait here whilst I spend 30 minutes walking to the other end of the map, magically not getting spotted by the other team.

"flank" - see above, that only works if you're in a light or one or two mediums.

"dont be seen" - ok so we're back to the just hide and let the rest of your team do the work.

"dont vote for it" - oh trust me, I'll never vote for this map having played it a few times. Did it occur to you that the other players also get a vote? so the players in fast lights, long range sniper builds and LRM's vote for it, and anyone in a brawler is fu*ked.

Most of the other maps promote a variety of playstyles, this one PREVENTS a playstyle, the others don't PREVENT something. THATS the problem so many people on this forum seem to be ignoring.

Just because the map is unsuited to your typical playstyle does not mean it is a bad map.

There is only one good counter to LRMs. It is the Radar Deprivation Module. It is not optional if you want to do well.

The MAP is way too punishing on assaults, specially on brawling assaults without ECM. I took advantage of the discount and bought an AS7-S... I've given up on it for the time being.

Anyway, right now the new map is popular, it is also very favourable for weapon types that are not at their best, like ERPPCs and LRMs so in my opinion there is a synergy between people who are taking advantage of the new map favouring those types of weapons and people who want to use those weapons and take advantage of it being very common. But wait for a few days and when this map begins being a less common sight most lurmboats are going to realize taking lurms is a high stake, in most map not Polar they suck, then they the overall LRM population will diminish, or so I hope, and the map will become more playable.

Right now and ON THAT MAP ==> NARC + LRM is OP, PLS NERF.

Huh. I have little problem with my 52kph king crabs. I've even survived being narced because I know where to look for cover.

I can even flank in heavies and slower assaults.

I must be doing something wrong.

Last game I was in, we had an MPL Thunderbolt sneak around the side and gank two enemy 'Mechs by himself before going down.

Slow brawlers are meat here, but patient and reasonably nimble ones can sneak wide (because the map is wide enough to allow it) and run the terrain in the back for their attack. What they can't do is plow straight in.

And don't talk about "this one preventing playstyles". Any intelligent team can utterly shut down a missile boat on Crimson (go tunnel into docks) or HPG (center high or low). I don't complain when the map vote goes that way and I can spend an entire round down to a few medium lasers worth of weaponry and 25+ tons of useless junk because my team decided the best places to fight were the ones I can do nothing whatsoever in a LRM boat.

Anyone then saying "You should use better weapons then" as a response? Tell it to this guy in his Atlas. He at least can -slowly- get to a position where his choice of only short-range guns can make an impression.
