Intersted in seeing FDs take on the MadCat. I'm not as enamoured by the 'mech as some, but know that its iconic, and I'm sure FD is sweating bullets.

If i had the photoshop skills, I'd do it myself, however I'd like to see someone else try it.

I imagine it as taking FDs Catapult remake, move the LRMs up on the shoulders, and add arms to where the launchers currently are. Should be fairly close, except for perhaps the size and some cosmetic design.

Cheers.

Blasphemy!!! I trust FD's artistic tastes... However if he flattens the Madcats nose like that of the catapults... I will make bad things happen... Like really angry emails!!! Beware...

Hmm... I wonder if the Clans would be introduced into MWO at some point of time, would Clan mechs be different in style, than IS ones? In my opinion they should be as Clan tech differs a lot from IS so I guess it would be natural for their mechs to look different.

have to agree with Epitaph. i love the classic desings my self. MWO are doing a good job with there redesigns however hope they do the timberwolf justice

Armorcast Timberwolf with UAC5 arm and 35MM elemental :P

first..definitely the original designs are best..from the books and table top game

second..that elemental is way too small..in comparison to the mech

third..not even going to worry or wonder about it , cause they wont be in game for a year..or close to it

Too much good artwork to chose from, that said, I do believe FD is sweating on this one, so i would expect him to do an outstanding job. Just gotta wait and see.

i cannot wait to see what FD does with it
i also think he should hold nothing back from his redesign

also if the jenner and catapult he did is anything to go by we have few concerns

I think the final designs for all of the omnis will change a fair amount. I foresee them designing the skeleton of the mech and then adding pods from there. So a better question is what does a "naked" (salacious throaty laughter) Timber Wolf look like? I think if we answer that question we will have a much better idea of what the final design will look like. Remember that weapons like ACs, PPCs and GRs require the removal of lower arm and hand actuators. I would also expect that the build up of a given section would be related to how many criticals have been filled in that section. So if FF and ES crits are allocated to it I would expect fewer omni pod mounting points and vice versa.

I love the mid-era miniature designs with the rounded cockpit and the external weaponry, It should be a beast mean looking and ravenous, but elegant in all movement and execution. you look at it and want to run but cant look away cause it just flows with this natural grace of destructive power.

Are you people aware that the Clans are not here yet? This game is basic Inner Sphere tech.

I love the updated technical readout 3050's rendition of it. Everything looks perfectly proportioned. Though I trust that I'm going to like Iglesias's take on it cause everything I've seen so far as blown me away.

This picture is pretty much the best for the Timber Wolf (Prime). Most other interpretations have LRM15s in the shoulders. They're LRM20s. This picture gets that right. The one thing that bugs me a little is there appear to be 3 M.Guns, 2 in the CT, 1 in the RT. This is inaccurate. The MPLas in the LT is right, but only one M.Gun should be in the CT. (Though 'technically,' an M.Gun can be 'fluffed' as an 'array' of M.Guns [in the same way ACs come in varying bores and number of shots fired per discharge], so I'm not as irritated by this as by other artists making the LRM racks 15s instead of 20s.)

Also, as you mention, everything is in perfect proportion.

Well, it IS an omnimech. I'm hoping if you select LRM15's, you SEE LRM15s. :)

I don't know about "perfect" proportion. Sounds a bit subjective.
