I would.

Muh lore!

I'm STILL annoyed with the current made-up IIC variants and the missile launchers for the Mad Dog, Timber Wolf, and Warhawk. Seriously, why is the Warhawk's LRM 10 launcher underneath the PPCs? It should be on the shoulder joint or on the top of the mech itself, according to all of the art I've seen!

You're a loose merc who is willing to sell out the Inner Sphere?

I'm willing to acknowledge that they have superior Tech, will use that Tech, and fight for the Inner Sphere given you pay me what I ask. All you are doing is shooing away a MechWarrior that is willing to buy different Tech from fighting for you, to putting a bullet in your brain.

Really, the matter is simple.

I play with the toys I want, people with money pay me to do something, I'll do it.

If you don't want to pay me, I'll find someone who will pay me to kill you, easy enough.

Regardless, I just want my Mad Cat MKII.

And the builds you created would be a lot of fun in my opinion.

What was your guys favorite camo pattern in Mechwarrior 4? For a special skin here.

Hero, I still think Angus Labov would make a good choice for the pilot. Diamond Shark hero pretty much.

His should totally rock a UAC/20 and LB/20 just for being a close range killer.

Not a bad idea, I would like to see his build fairly conservative,
Maybe 2xUAC2/5 and an LBX20?, 2x LRM 15's, and 3xER Meds one in each torso? Trying for a lore feeling build

Had this build idea oddly in mind
MCTMKII-Lonewalker
Head:n/a
CT: 1E (MPL)
LT: 1E (MPL)
RT: C-TAG
RA: 1B,1M (LBX 10), (Streak SRM4)
LA: 1b, 1M (LBX 10), (Streak SRM4)
That's the weapon part but need to figure how much ammo and heatsinks the thing need tho.

first of all... this mech aint iconic.
behemoth is, kraken is. if your looking for an assault.
woodsman is, if you looking for a different take on a madcat.
but all this "another madcat" stuff, e.g. the medium weight cat etc. is just a sign they didnt have any new good ideas.
like most of the post 3060 stuff.

and... before we add yet another assault, heavy, medium...

can we have a ligh please ?

Woodsman a slow predecessor of the Timberwolf line of mechs.
uses MASC to reach Timberwolf's speeds.

Prime: Same loadout as TBR-Prime
Cong.A: Is a engery boat noting special.

The mech is nice to bring in but it's really nothing compare to the TBR, let alone it's child the Mad Cat MKII, hell I take the Lupus over the Woodsman, tanky(cuz Std Engine).

Other Config. for the Lupus
Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The primary configuration of the Lupus replaces the Archer and Bombardier'Mechs. A pair of LRM-20 launchers with improved Artemis IV guidance systems allows the warrior to destroy a foe before they can reach close range. The Lupus Prime also carries a set of jump jets which allowed a smart warrior the opportunity to hold the range open, bombarding the enemy with heavy missile barrages. The only drawback is the limited ammunition supply: A mere three tons of ammunition allows for only a brief engagement. Should the enemy close with the Lupus all is not lost. The ER Medium Laser in each arm allow the Lupusto slice off armor, and the ECM Suite makes the Lupus Prime more difficult to target.
Alternate Configurations[edit]
  • Alt. Config. A This configuration was used for direct fire support roles. A Large Pulse Laser in one arm supported an Ultra AC/10 in the other. A pair of ER Medium Lasers gave the Lupus A additional firepower in case the 'Mech went through all 30 reloads for the autocannon. Twelve double heat sinkskept the heat manageable. BV (2.0) = 1,927[4]

Why does no one know what iconic means?

The Behemoth, Kraken, and Woodsman are not iconic. Not even close. They're just more mechs, as nice as they may be.

The Mad Cat Mk II symbolizes an entire era in Battletech. It's iconic in the same way the Atlas was for 3025, or the Mad Cat was for the Invasion.

If you don't like it, that's fine - I'm not a fan either. But rattling off personal favorites as iconic is as pathetic and misguided as Ubisoft's attempts to mark watches as iconic.

This ^^

Why I said iconic, to me an many others it was a stand out mech in MW4, one many remember. If you don't agree ok, iconic is different to everyone. But as said, what stands out from that era,TRO, game, faction. That is iconic to me. Think of what is on the cover, in the logo, the one page the show off in the preview. That is iconic. And Bombast hit it on the head I feel there with the mention mechs. The ones you mentioned atleast to me....I would have never known of them outside of Mechwarrior, it requires digging in battletech, which is fine but think why they have never seen light out side of battletech....

Simmering Sword's and Madcat Mk.VII Heavy Mech concept look the best.

Some where on these boards, I listed some classic Iconic Mechs...

Atlas
Warhammer
Timber Wolf
Mad Dog
Marauder
Archer
Phoenix Hawk
Stinger
Wasp
Riflemen
Mad Cat Mk ii

All of these can be found on at least two covers of rule books, novels or art work.

That's quite the loose system of parameters you have there. I can name several mechs that appear on at least 5 covers that aren't in that list: Dire Wolf, Zeus, Kit Fox, Hunchback, etc.

The Mad Cat MkII walks like a duck that crapped its pants if we follow the MW4 animation..

With that logic, the KDK should looks like a collection of broken toasters.

.

To be fair, my list should be seen more as an example of what could be considered iconic.

I don't think I want it anymore. It will only be Gauss boat #30 on clan mechs. Every other weapon system, except for missiles is getting nerfed. And as a TBR pilot, I'm really starting to dislike missiles, especially if they come with the world's easiest side torsos to isolate. There's nothing left.
