Not really interested in buying to be honest.

Combination of low hardpoints and in my opinion poor cockpit design and hero/special variant camos.

Getting the basic pack, with early adopter toys.

I almost bought the Kodiak for the extra stuff, but I don't really want any Kodiaks... However, this is one half of the things I promised I would buy. Now PGI, Where is my Crusader?!

Also your store art needs to be moved to the right, can't see the mech behind the text, bad art people. Bad, bad bad.

I looked upon this 'Mech Pack and asked myself two questions...

1. Do I want them?
2. Can I afford to purchase them without affecting my other financial obligations?

The answer to the first question was "HELL YEAH!!"
The answer to the second question was "Yes."

I see a lot of value in the package. Eight 'Mechs, eight Mech Bays, three hanging cockpit items, three standing cockpit items, three war horns, and 60 days Premium Time, all for $85. Not to mention the early adopter stuff.

I am proud to be a Nostalgic buyer. I have every package at the highest tier, except for the UrbanMech. I would imagine I see the UrbanMech pack like you non-buyers see this pack -- little to no value, crappy 'Mech design, adds nothing to the game. To each their own.

I have no idea who decides pricing at PGI ... but the point of packs is usually to bundle content giving a discount to someone purchasing more and generating more revenue by enticing folks to spend more.

LOL. PGI in their infinite idiocy puts the Ultimate Pack for the Phoenix Hawk at $85 .. the ultimate pack includes the heroes, the reinforcements and the collectors pack ... surprise these cost $85 separately ... thus there is no enticement for someone to purchase the Ultimate Pack ... it is solely a way of packaging content and offers no benefit whatsoever. Doesn't PGI employ anyone who has a clue about marketing? The Ultimate Pack should be priced at $75 at most ... offering a $10 discount to someone willing to purchase everything and costing only a little bit more than the base pack plus extras.

Sigh .. I have no idea who makes these decisions at PGI.

(P.S. I have no vested interest in the pricing since I don't think I will pick this one up ... but I would like to see PGI actually thinking about their pricing schemes).

I'm an underpaid merc from a small unit on an insignificant world. Too rich for my blood. Will have to wait for C-bill availability before I pick any of them up.

Question about the PHX-R hero - it lists the left arm as mounting an MPL, MG, and twin SRM4s. So, we assume that the MPL and MG will occupy the usual mounts. Where will the missile launchers go? Can we expect shoulder mounts, blended in with the arm, or will there be gigantic, horrifyingly ugly boxes hung off the forearm?

Follow-up question: Would these launchers 'fit' the design better in the LT instead of the LA?

Question about the PHX-KK hero - it lists a big beam weapon and a small beam weapon in each arm. Will it have twin 'rifles'?

Question about the PHX-1B - will the ERLL be mounted 'over the shoulder' like the ancient design the 'mech is sourced from, or will the hardpoint be someplace else?

Just so we're clear, these are the hardpoints:

PXH-1: 3E 3B
PXH-1B: 4E 2B ECM
PXH-1K: 8E
PXH-2: 6E ECM
PXH-3S: 3E 2B MASC

PXH-R: 2M 3E 1B
PXH-KK: 4E 2B

4 of the seven variants are practically the same goddamn thing. MASC does not make up for anemic hardpoints. The 2 automatically invalidates the 1B simply because it has more energy hardpoints to work with. While the 1K has 8E, how useful is that going to be if you want to really upgrade that engine? Woopee the R gets 2 missiles, 2 SRM6A with 3MPL?

The mech looks cool...but this pack is so lackluster....

$85 for every variant...lol.

Would have been nice if they offered a discount for buying all of them or something extra like some colors (which i think should be included in these packs anyway).

But other than the pricing i like the Phoenix Hawks a lot.

Grabbing basic pack on Friday. This set is awesome, a 45 tonner with ECM and 4 energy points? CW drop deck tonnages change all the time, I'll be more than happy to have a jumping, ECM capable energy mech to fill in weight. I've always hated the BJ, it's fugly and these P-Hawks are sexy as hell.

The Ultimate Pack seems to exist only to overcome the complaints of people like me who had to do multiple transactions to buy both a Classic Pack and then the Hero add-on.

The pricing & reinforcement schemes in the last pack & this pack in particular worry me. Reminds me of when the camera is stolen in the beginning of Full Metal Jacket...

That notwithstanding, I'm not sure I'd even recommend the base package. Practically everything is arm-mounted, and they're far from high-mount arms. Thanks but no thanks.

I love how selective people get when they complain about prices. Price of a single pack has been $20 for a while now, no matter size. Tiny urbanmech with aenemic early adopter rewards? Same price as the marauder, kodiak etc etc and now phoenix. Do people compare it to the urbanmech though? No, they go to the big guns because they support their argument better. Premium time on these single releases are a way better value than the bigger packs. With them you had to spend $60 to get 30 days and $80 for $60. With the individual packs you get 30 for $20 and can get 60 for $40.

Were the big bundles a better value at the top tiers? Maybe, but they resoundly sucked at the bottom tier (no premium time, always only a light mech, hero mechs not an option at any price point, a la carte for the other sizes adding a $15 premium with no perks). Since i rarely if ever will splurge on the full kit out, i quite like this approach and hope they stick with it.

Undecided if i will get this as i just got kodiak and bought $50 in mc when they were offering the jenner mastery bundle with it, but if i do i will get the base pack and then post release pick up the roc if i really like the platform (cause that paint scheme just screams awesome to me).

I don't think people are being selective. The Urbanmech was never a good deal. It makes more sense to compare it to more recent mech releases too. Which if you do... it's a bad deal.

This is getting out of hand. I was ok with the packs of multiple chassis. Then they added extra chassis as add-ons, ok cool. Then they added a fourth variant free for opting in early, sweet. Then they stopped with the packs and went to individual chassis, alright, they're classic mechs I let it slide. They also added the option to buy a hero add-on with the classics, ok cool. Then they added a fourth and fifth variant but you have to pay extra for them instead of getting the fourth for free as an early opt in, not cool, at least the variants (talking about he Kodiak) weren't amazing compared to the others. Now they add two hero upgrades (each at a cost individually) and the two extra variants at extra cost but they put one of, if not, the best variant in that group.

This has to stop. Too many variants being jammed into these packs, the freebie early opt in variant is gone, and now they're charging extra for it and a bad tag along buddy. Oh and two heroes now too (unless this is going to be a rare case like the Dragon but I somehow doubt that.). Cost keeps going up, the packs before had value, that isn't the case anymore.
