Dear MW Team,

I played MW ever since the released of first edition and its great..really great!!! I even developed hemorrhoids playing this ;).

All those PPC and LRM launch from my Sidewinder is really amazing!!!
Now, I heard this MW online...I WANT MY HEMORRHOIDS BACK!!! Wheeeeeeeee!!!

I hope that surrounding background has damaged effect to simulate real world destruction.
Bomb Crater(maneuver difficulty), burning trees(will increase mech heat), Stone shrapnel hitting the glass of pilot cabin, wreck sparking mech arm when hit, falling debris from a downed aircraft, bullet shell passing to the screen when using a gatling gun(if any). missile glare when launch..etch

I love those effect if they can be implemented.

Any Madcat, Bushwhacker??

Thanks

Argento

Mech corps seem to have a pretty critical role in the game's mechanics, but they're also social tools. I'm curious if you've considered adding any other secondary social tools? Like, Guild Wars 2 is allowing players to be in an unlimited number of guilds simultaneously (although they only earn points for one guild at a time). Their idea is to allow players to be a part of as many social groups as they want without having to abandon their high-ranking guild.

Personally I think that's a pretty cool idea, so I was wondering if there might be something else, that while not having any of the in-game mechanics or rewards of a merc corp, at least gives a group of players a shared chat channel at the very least.

Not sure if this has been broughten up in this thread or not, Don't feel like going through all 11 pages.

My only concern with the LP's and accumulating directly with how much you play, is the balance between the hardcore players and casual players. Assuming the casual player gets a couple hours a day to play, and Hardcore players who have all day to play and have all the advantages associated with accumulating 8 hours a day worth of playing time and LP's--will this disparity between the hardcore and the casual player create such a disadvantage for the casual player that defeating the hardcore player (or team) almost impossible?

for example, take world of warcraft. Hugely known as a gear grind, and those who can spend countless hours accumulating said gear can be a lack luster player in comparison to a casual gamer, but has such an edge with the gear that the casual player doesn't stand a chance regardless of his superior skill.

I hope that doesn't become the case, I hope the LP's give an advantage, but an advantage that doesn't necessarily cement a victory just because one team had all month to grind a large quantity of LP's.

Also, another lesson learned while playing WoW, if the bonuses gained from LP's (or Honor back in the day for wow) are so great that ppl take to grinding them and have to regularly keep up a high frequency of play to retain that edge--players will get burned out and the player base will unfortunately decline.

Although I know MWO and WoW are not even close to the same type of game, i couldn't help but notice a big similarity from the accumulation of LP's and the honor grind back in the day of WoW pre BC that burned a many good player out and causing a cancellation.

sorry if my thoughts aren't very coherent, its 320am here annnnnnnnnnnd need to go to bed, but felt I needed to post my concerns about LPs and what the dev blog said about their accumulation and role in the game. All in all I dig the Idea of LP's i just hope they don't become the main focus of the game, such that a casual player can't remain competitive with the limited amount of time they get to play. Basically hoping for a sensible balance =P

Bad guys, vermin, scum, thieves, Pirates!?!!http://www.punkrocke...Pirates/friend/?!!?!?! Not an attacker, enemy, respected foe, but a dimwitted or genius cretins, that seek chaos.

What about a pirate faction?Possibly anonymous(from all outside their group)smash and grab outfits that can be scum, or higher end type of card carrying mercenaries until, nobody is looking fellas. Gaining mechs and supplies from whatever outpost or units they attacked.

Anyone remember tradewares & the bad/evil ratings? They had their own message board side. You had to be a certain level of bad/evil to go to that message board. There are very good aspects of that game that could be incorporated, even some of the jump coordinates ideas. (There must be those devs that either played, or their fathers played this game. Th ancient BBS Game of the decade!!!!)

Of course, the bounty on there heads would increase as their villainies perpetrated gained in weight of their destructive conquests. Houses, and federations/ comstar? would ante up for their destruction. I am not one, but there are a group that would enjoy being the thorn in the flesh. And a whole bunch that would love getting the bounty, and extra points for being heroes.

Even better and mightier would be a Urban Mech Faction of hardened (and not bright) mech pilots. The fear and terror (and of course unstoppable laughter) of a Lance of Urban Mech's taking on Star of MadCat IIc's. Either the Urban Mech's pee shooter's will get a lucky hit or the MadCat IIC's Pilots will die from unstoppable and uncontrollable laughter!!!

Fear the Mighty Walking Trash Can's of Doom aka The Urban Mech!!!

Naw...this is not like a clan pirate group, but like entrepreneurs, don't need to be pirates, just questionable mercs on the edge of bankruptcy. Mech warrior with a weopons fix,"man I neeeeee'd a PPC man! just for my next job man. There are no madcat llC's yet, are there???
The idea is good vs evil, or the morally challenged with those that are not, You decide who is who...

Nothing funny about my post, sorry if you thought I meant it that way. Thanks uncle danno

I don't know the answer, but I believe they would have to, if the faction could afford the services, and it does not go against any previous agreements. It would be expensive to transport the large unit, to pay that unit, of course the unit will have other duties it cannot neglect.

Rotten causes, riddled by meaningless banter. Decadence leads a frothing path through and beyond the accepted the fresh, also, have you ever smelled a daisy? Decay? Hope is lost when good men fail, and fail they must when the rectitude the profit mongers tires of adding upon the ledger. For where will the "good" find cash? And even decay has it's favors. And I believe it is the fifth flavor, decay. Without a goal, you lose the game. You know I think you lie, and tell not the truth, you cannot possibly like everything. Have you in fact enjoyed piloting a Firefly?

I think the finances of transport will play an important part of this universe if that is what is wanted. To capture a jumpship would be a stupendous thing, to lose one horrendous! yet will it be contiguous, transportation and battle retaliation?Time desired, as time be? Will there be a "Spaceward Ho" element, hopefully a "Tradewar's" element??? Knowledge may be a key, but it may also be a Molotov cocktail, depends on the incentives given, or taken.

If it will take 2 weeks to get to a mission's objective in subjective time log, but only a couple of minutes of real time game, the stratagy of leaving your home world, or whatever, becomes problematic, if your troops are over extended, not mended, just befriended, come here little buddy, what is left of your world can swear allegiance to me, or be destroyed, oh, and pick up that soap. You come home, wow, our unit is shooting at us,hmmmm, this does not seem right, what the heck over?

But how could the almost turnbase time bind with the real time, or should I say twine to equivalent outcomes?
This is how, the travel time back, makes null the time traveled there. the difficult part would be the balance of all the other timelines, but since the time is a realtime 3049 and month and follow in succession in 24 hour cycles, perhaps it is in no way realistic. But time is not going to be real either, a unit will drop, scout, destroy, in an hour, where if it were not make believe, it would take much much longer, see.

I know I am rambling, but I think you need to pull the stops sometimes and see what you get. Thanks uncle danno, eruto
