Because anybody that has been there from the very start knows that your statement is wrong.

After all the IS pulled off a successfull OP Bulldog right at the start of phase 2. The reason clans are winning is mercenarys most of the time. It is the same reason they also get pushed back.

Just bring the patch in, cant wait to get my hands on.... :)

Clans feel like much stronger mechs at this point - but its not bad, playing IS is like a challenge for me, whereas playing clan is kind "easy mode".

Not a bad thing, there is allways a stronger and weaker one..... if everything is equal, a fiat would be equal to porsche, a rabbit will be as strong as lion... being all girls equal, there would not be a true love for the single one....

They haven't even released the MWO mechanics data for all those updates yet and the majority of you didn't have a cow, you had the whole herd. Posted Image

After the hype wave of new toys left me, that was the first thing that came to my mind. The FW mechanics might change in the sense that the two main opposing factions would be FedCom vs Lyran Alliance now. If that is so, I'm wondering how PGI will incorporate all the other Factions into FW now. And does it also mean that we'd be getting the possibility of mixed tech drop decks soon? Hmm...

So where is this FedCom on the IS map now, as it currently stands?

It isn't there because PGI never bothered to create it.

@Zergling, from a Clansmen that Statement, Respect! Most Clansmen think they were in the Books superior, they must it ingame too! And when they saw that could not be they hate PGI for that.
Let us wait till implemention, than we will see what happen!
I more concernd to push away the new Skill Tree to a later time. I hope that isn't dying like InfoWarfare and Energy draw!

Update hasn't happened yet, clans have had better tech than what IS will get for YEARS !! and you are complaining about the field getting slightly more even ?

Clan Wolf researched the Laser AMS in 3045 & put it into production on 3048 which means as soon as Clans were launched (Wave I) we should have had it. But they give it to us the same time as the IS & that is balance? OK White Knight....................

WHAT ADVANTAGE? Clans have been nerfed out of the gate. As soon as they were launched Russ or Paul said they would be nerfed for balance. A Hunchback has more internal structure than a DireWolf & that is balance? Clan mechs are supposed to outperform IS mechs until RIGHT NOW. THIS is the time they catch up. Wow you White Knights are coming out the woodwork today.

These were all "experiemental" level tech during "Civil War Era" time. Other games have included experimental tech but MWO doesn't really have a history of doing so. But I mean if you really want to go that route....the IS list gets even bigger by a lot actually...like a lot...

A lot of clan mechs have ECM and with the ability to change about hardpoints through omnipods it means that any mech with an ECM omnipod can adjust its other options to be favorable and to the pilot's liking. There aren't that many ECM IS varients out there and out of the ones that are availble only a small handful have any type of hardpoint load out and weigh capacity that is useful. The same goes for MASC, a MASC equipped omni with jump jets, which you can put an ECM on and change its hard points about on....yeah I think that only exists in clans right now.

IS gets an armor that takes up 12 slots, doesnt save weight, and can only be used on ECM mechs. That isnt OP... with Endo-steel, an xl engine, ECM, and stealth armor, you're looking at 18 to 20 slots total left for all weapons, ammo, and heatsinks (most of which weigh more and take up more crit slots). With an LFE, you are looking at 2 more crits and a serious hit to weight savings. Plus when you activate your stealth armor it is gonna mess with heat.

Also we don't know what about autocannons is gonna change or not change....what about heat is gonna change or not change. But giving everyone more options (especially IS) only helps the argument to remove some of the nerfs from clan tech that were added to help balance again IS inferiority. Also, everyone always complains about making too many changes at once but when they feel like they are getting cheated, they want more change and immediately. Lets feel it out and see how it changes things before we determine what is and isn't fair. Several of these on both sides are gonna most likely be DOA anyhow.

I think PGI have done well with this planned update. The new weapons will help the balance and provide more variety to the loadouts, it will also help some of the less used mechs come in to their own.

The new mechs are good, I will certainly buy a couple of them, although I do think the removal of the premium time from the standard package was a mistake.

But in a PvP game you can't have one side be totally dominating with no compromise. Thats not how a game keeps going. They either don't release clans at all or they nerf in an attempt to balance. When that isn't working they try to offer more options, a lot of similar options primarily. If it is obvious that adding more options with current nerfs and such in place seriously harm balance then you reduce or eliminate some of those nerfs.
