Clan medium 'Mechs are the least available 'Mech type in this game. There are only ten options for Clan medium 'Mechs - Arctic Wolf, Black Lanner, Hunchback IIC, Huntsman, Ice Ferret, Nova, Shadow Cat, Stormcrow, Vapor Eagle and Viper. Every other class of 'Mech has more selections - the next smallest category is IS lights, at twelve choices. We have over twice as many IS assaults as we do Clan mediums. The Grendel is a timeline-appropriate medium OmniMech for MW5: Clans. It is a midpoint between the Viper and the Shadow Cat movement profile-wise; it is a match for the Black Lanner in raw groundspeed, but trades the Lanner's integrated MASC for jump capacity second in its weight class only to the Viper. the G configuration is easily retooled to work in MWO (M.A.S.C. over the Supercharger, ice Ferret style, and simply replace the 1.5t, 2-slot Watchdog CEWS with an ECM and a CLAP) and provides the red laser spam configuration such a 'Mech needs to be valid for competitive play, while the other configurations offer enough mingled hardpoints to do PAC builds, missiles, and various other forms of mixed energy for fun times in Mosh Pit. PAC/8 and a bevy of medium lasers for a mixed striker? Done. ATM-9 with the same bevy of sidecar lasers as a highly mobile, flexible missile harasser? Done. Heavy large laser platform? Done. Massed SRM batteries? Done.
Screw the sodding Naga II and its Summoner Hardpoint-itis. Even if you discount EVERY Clan-ified assault chassis, we already have thirteen Clan assault 'Mechs to ten mediums - and the Clan-ified assault chasses still count so we have almost twice as many of those as we do mediums. The Naga II is a sad bad robit that should feel bad.

In the end as pbiggz said the only limiter is equipment not chassis, at this point we just being nit picky on what to add for the sake of uniqueness which pretty eliminates alot of possibilities just on that alone. At this point I just want new mechs to play with I already played most mechs in the game and Naga II would be fun as a speedy assault comes barreling around at Chargers speed with big firepower sounds, Mad Cat III sounds funny to add, and I love Timberwolves so I would pay for to collector packs just for the Mad Cat III alone, hell I'll fund for a Mad Cat IV that is a light for the memes.
Cool cool, you'd pay for collector packs for terrible robits. Would five thousand other people? There's a reason I don't usually push hard for the Grendel despite it being pretty damn close to my absolute dream ride of a 'Mech - I know damn well it wouldn't drum up enough sales to be worthwhile and that means it gets to stay a fond daydream. Oh well. Better my dream 'Mech stay a dream than it being the cause of the servers shutting down.
