I'm sorry but what does the mongrel brings, speed and lasers it basically a slower ice ferret that can throw a bit more weapons on it,

Clan medium 'Mechs are the least available 'Mech type in this game. There are only ten options for Clan medium 'Mechs - Arctic Wolf, Black Lanner, Hunchback IIC, Huntsman, Ice Ferret, Nova, Shadow Cat, Stormcrow, Vapor Eagle and Viper. Every other class of 'Mech has more selections - the next smallest category is IS lights, at twelve choices. We have over twice as many IS assaults as we do Clan mediums. The Grendel is a timeline-appropriate medium OmniMech for MW5: Clans. It is a midpoint between the Viper and the Shadow Cat movement profile-wise; it is a match for the Black Lanner in raw groundspeed, but trades the Lanner's integrated MASC for jump capacity second in its weight class only to the Viper. the G configuration is easily retooled to work in MWO (M.A.S.C. over the Supercharger, ice Ferret style, and simply replace the 1.5t, 2-slot Watchdog CEWS with an ECM and a CLAP) and provides the red laser spam configuration such a 'Mech needs to be valid for competitive play, while the other configurations offer enough mingled hardpoints to do PAC builds, missiles, and various other forms of mixed energy for fun times in Mosh Pit. PAC/8 and a bevy of medium lasers for a mixed striker? Done. ATM-9 with the same bevy of sidecar lasers as a highly mobile, flexible missile harasser? Done. Heavy large laser platform? Done. Massed SRM batteries? Done.

Screw the sodding Naga II and its Summoner Hardpoint-itis. Even if you discount EVERY Clan-ified assault chassis, we already have thirteen Clan assault 'Mechs to ten mediums - and the Clan-ified assault chasses still count so we have almost twice as many of those as we do mediums. The Naga II is a sad bad robit that should feel bad.

In the end as pbiggz said the only limiter is equipment not chassis, at this point we just being nit picky on what to add for the sake of uniqueness which pretty eliminates alot of possibilities just on that alone. At this point I just want new mechs to play with I already played most mechs in the game and Naga II would be fun as a speedy assault comes barreling around at Chargers speed with big firepower sounds, Mad Cat III sounds funny to add, and I love Timberwolves so I would pay for to collector packs just for the Mad Cat III alone, hell I'll fund for a Mad Cat IV that is a light for the memes.

Cool cool, you'd pay for collector packs for terrible robits. Would five thousand other people? There's a reason I don't usually push hard for the Grendel despite it being pretty damn close to my absolute dream ride of a 'Mech - I know damn well it wouldn't drum up enough sales to be worthwhile and that means it gets to stay a fond daydream. Oh well. Better my dream 'Mech stay a dream than it being the cause of the servers shutting down.

Such a pathetic attitude you have "I'm not gonna push for a mech because it might kill the game". Like get a ******* grip the game have been in a poor state for a while on be held up but the cauldron that's trying their best, but they can only do so much when the game itself been left in maintenance mode for to long, I would rather PGI hire a separate dev team just for MWO alone, so we can atleast get new content, and actually try working on some game modes that can atleast change the monotony of skrimish deathball 24/7, but that's not gonna happen anytime soon.

Until PGI make the first move to actually do something with MWO other than once in a while rebranding, I'm just gonna ask for for mechs I don't care for competitive viability since I don't play competitively and just play for fun even in t1, if you have a problem with the Naga II, then go pound sound cause I don't care, I'm gonna keep riding this ship til it sinks.

Right there with ya.There are some 'Mechs that would work well with the MWO, that have yet to be mention, or even discussed. Like the Savage Coyote, which would definitely work for MWO. Well balanced, too. Not one variant is overpowering and each one brings a lot to the table.

Savage Coyote looks like a fun mid to long range mech and some variants have improved jj's so there is nice poptart builds, or get on high places and be and roof goblin sniping people.

Exactly, my point. Hell, the Woodsman and Lupus would make great additions to the game. Plus, there's no limit as to what they can do. I mean, we have two IS 'Mechs, and one Clan 'Mech, and all three are non-Lore Canon 'Mechs. So I ask this: why not a few more non-Lore 'Mechs? Why stop now?

I second this. Besides the lore behind it is funny. Apparently the IS Clans hated the design so much, they refused to use it. They even said this about the Mad Cat III. " It is an outrage against everything Nicholas Kerensky stood for and taught us." That in itself is pretty funny knowing it triggers the other clans (except for the Nova Cats and Exiled Wolves).

Hah I didn't know that, really it's just another version of a very proven and iconic mech, they shouldn't be so bent out of shape over it?

Crusader Clans tend be like that alot, hell Smoke Jaguar got offended that the New Black Watch challenge them in a trail, saying it's an insult to the original Black Watch, funny thing is Smoke Jaguar has no ties to the Black Watch, that's Jade Falcon.

Yep, the Crusader Clans hated it for two reasons: it was aping off the success of the Timber Wolf just like the Mad Cat II and it wasn't an OmniMech. They tend to take traditions like that very seriously. It didn't help matters that it was made by Clan Diamond Shark/Sea Fox, a Clan where the merchant caste hold power.

Truth be told, if the Mad Cat III was in MWO, I could see this acting like a Non-Omni Stormcrow.

i would love to see the X variant as a test bed for new armor and structure types in game with Ferro Lamellor give bonus points to armor, and endo composite being the IS equivalent to Clan endo steel.

The same could be said with new Ammunition types like High Explosive, Extended Range, etc. Hell, even Armor Piercing would be nice, if they add new armor to the game. These Ammo types don't need a select switch, or anything that remotely means we have to select them. But it'd be nice to have them.
