Removed the Fafnir.

Marauder 2 and Sunder are the new class leaders.

Sunder pls, Marauder II would be absolutely terrible without amazing amounts of hardpoint inflation.

The only case where I would want the Marauder II is if I could replicate my MAD-IIC 3 UAC5- 2 PPC build on it, which would require 2B in one ST and 1B in the other, with 2E in the arm opposite the side of the 2B ST. That's a tall order. Sunder pls.

Like I said, amazing amounts of hardpoint inflation. :P

Hey,
you got the Anvil but not the Hammer. They both should work together accordng to sarna.net Which means both of them should be listed.

Also want to point out that if you look at the mech releases of late, this poll is DEFINITELY working lol.

... which actually scares me thinking about the Hollander and it's lead. Statistically it is almost certain that many votes in the light section came from people who don't play lights, and that is probably why the Hollander is leading the poll in the first place.

Regarding the Marauder II, here is a breakdown of its hardpoints:

You could come up with 5 different variants for MWO (-4K, -6S, -6M, -4H, -4L) and you have a hero.

But most of them have very few hardpoints and - worse - they have them in few locations, so even hardpoint inflation does not help all that much.
It is literally a bigger, slower Marauder. And while in this game the Marauder design works well for 75 tons, I have my doubts when it comes to 100t. In TT it is great strength is sustained DPS with dual PPC and an AC/Gauss. But this kind of design is a lot less impressive in MWO.

Even before the release of the Fafnir I would have said that there are better choices. And after the Fafnir I'd say we need a 85t Mech in the assault class more than a Marauder II...

I remember clearly there were mechs way ahead of the Hollander I'm just wondering what happen to put this **** mech at the top, the Owens is a much viable choice than the Hollander imo.

You make good points. I can't help but ask: How many Marauders does this game need?

But forget my opinion. I like the Caps and the pre-Jihad FWL. Ain't no one voting for the Albatross but me.

The Hollander has been the most popular IS Light since... August? I'd have to check one of my previous tally posts.

Big guns are cool. Hollander has a big gun. Therefore, Hollander is cool.

The Owens would need a quirk similar to that of the Cougar to make it's SHS as effective as the equivalent number of DHS. At the very least the first 10. Raptor is a better choice, as is the Arctic Fox.

The Owens is just as bad but for different reasons. Locked shs & so on.

Well yes other omni's is better than the Owens, and for the shs I would just give it quirks to atleast match dhs in a matter to compensate, I just don't see the point in the Hollander other than purest form of nostalgia.

The Owens is surely worse. The Hollander will probably have some variants that are not complete garbage, but every single Owens has a TAG, BAP, C3 (in theory) and SHS...

The Owens is an example of where I hope my poll doesn't work.

YES!

The fact that House Kurita doesn't have their flagship battlemech yet is a travesty. The Clans get to have their totem mechs and the most of the IS has their flagship mechs. Even House Steiner is having another flagship mech, the Fafnir, even though they already have the Zeus. But you may be thinking, "Doesn't House Kurita already have enough flagship mechs?". Well, while the Dragon and Panther are Kuritan favorites, those were Star League made mechs and they didn't even get picked up by the Combine until the fall of the Star League. The Jenner, sure but it doesn't have the aesthetic that screams House Kurita. As for the Mauler/Daboku, it may be the hero that House Kurita needs, but the Hatamoto-Chi is the hero that they deserve.
