What could make for an interesting Fast Boi Legend...hmmm...
Well for one, it's time and past time the Clans got another legend for freaking once. The last, like...five have been Spheroid scumtrash, it's our turn! And we know Piranha doesn't believe in light 'Mechs anymore, not with people being a bunch of jankos who never buy light 'Mechs, so gonna be a medium on the quicker end given they're not about to do Ferroblast 2.0. Hmm...Shadow Cat? Blanner? Arctic Wolf, maybe? Feel like the Shadow Cat is the one most ripe for some manner of Legend gimmick, Blanner is hard to do new configurations for and Arctic Wolf is a little tonnage-starved while also already having a Meme Fit job in being the Missile Donkey. They could do an Ice Ferret, but frankly to Gehenna with the Chilly Hamster, that 'Mech is a tire fire and should've been passed over for the Viper from the start.
Gonna say Shadow Cat's my prediction. Let's see how wrong I am, heh.

As for mediums, I'm all for the Griffin IIC, or Shadow Hawk IIC, or for OmniMech, the Grendel aka Mongrel. It's just a bad *** of 'Mech. So, why not??

Hmmm...I know a lot of people are real eager for the Kingfisher on the Clan side, but I honestly don't think a slow 90-tonner with the armament of a Stormcrow would get anywhere these days. Ditto the Turkina, which is basically a Clan King Crab i.e. giant wide flat 'Mech with generally anemic hardpoints in most configurations and three fixed jump jets the entire forum would kvetch endlessly about. Probably the Hauptmann; that distinctive "Batman Smoking a Cigar" cockpit would be a sales driver in and of itself, heh. Plus the fact that the Hautpmann doesn't actually super mind the fact that it's got Locked STD-Everythingitis because of Omnitech - it's still got over forty tons of pod space, which is generally sufficient unto the needs of the day. The only real issue is the Hautpmann doesn't seem to have the massed ballistics Chonker Chasses usually want to employ, but a single -P variant would fix that. Admittedly getting the Regent instead would be heccin' killer (or as heccin' killer as any Chonker really can be at this point), but the amount of griping we'd get if Piranha did the Clantech rebuild of the Hautpmann before the actual Hauptmann would be...well. Heh.
As for the Fast Boi? Hmm...
Considering the Sphere is definitely getting the Chonker, it's only fair the Clans get the Fast Boi, heh. The aforementioned Hellion is quite good, though I'm unsure if it fills any new(ish) niches. The Clans already have a solid and popular thirty-tonner, though at least the Hellion and the Chilly Speedcat are markedly different patterns. ~110kph w/MASC and no fixed jets to get 10+ tons of pod space on a 30-ton chassis is Quite Palatable to many people looking for a heavy-duty combat light, even if MASC got pretty savagely nerfed. Depending on where the various variants' hardpoints are (don't have access to any TROs to check that), could be a savage little mixed SRMs/redlasers striker, or bring enough ATMs to a game to actually make meaningful use of them as an anti-light/harassment platform.
Everything I said previously about the Phantom still applies, though I'll admit that 'Mech would not land nearly as well with compy sorts. I nevertheless maintain a 40-tonner booking close to 160kph with 9+ small/micro lasers would be hilarious. , Eat fish sticks and fry, PIR mains - the Phantom is about to eat your lunch, and you with it. I am perfectly willing to admit that such would be the Phantom's only compy-viable kit, though. No missile spam, no massed AP Gauss. Not super great for sales, if deeply amusing for memes. Still better than a Chilly Hamster.
And I can still hold a small personal candle for my Grendel/Mongrel, heh. It's not great in a short-sprint arena duel game like MWO, but as a raider/campaign machine accept no substitute and I always loved swift, versatile machines. And even in MWO, while its pod space might be limited its mobility is still exceptional, and it has enough guns. It's like a somewhat smaller, moderately saner Black Lanner that trades integrated MASC for integrated jump capacity second only to the Viper, and I am about this.

I am shocked and appalled, however, to see that the incomparable Hellstar is not included as an option for Clan Assault 'Mechs! I cannot fathom why that would be.
Perhaps the weak and cowardly Spheroids are afraid of what we could accomplish with the Hellstar at our disposal. They should be!
But, for real, give me a Hellstar, please.

We have since received New Information in a different thread - any new 'Mech chasses in development, including Code: Chonker and Code: Fastboi, have to be valid for use in both of Piranha's active games - MWO and Mechwarrior 5: Clans. Means that both 'Mechs mst be Clan 'Mechs, and they must be valid for inclusion in a game about the Invasion i.e. introduced 3049 or earlier. The Hellstar is listed in Sarna as date-of-introduction: 3079, so unfortunately way out of scope for Invasion-era machines. Does make me the sad, as this also disqualifies the Grendel and the Grendel would be absolutely fire in a campaign-based game like MW5 while being worthwhile enough to make the cut in MWO. Ah well.

That is incredibly frustrating! That really cuts down on the variety of 'Mechs that could be introduced, especially on the Inner Sphere side. The post-Invasion years had a real renaissance of Inner Sphere 'Mech designing.

They did, and a lot of that renaissance is already in MWO. Many of the flagship post-Invasion or Civil War-era designs are in the game. Not all of them, to be sure, but that's the case for IntroTech and Invasion machines too.
MWO already has a pretty heavy bias towards IS designs. Pilots who prefer Clan machines have historically been told to suck it up and deal. I'm not really super upset that it's our turn now, especially since almost all the new designs since Maintenance ended have been Inner Sphere. Crusader and Longbow, Hatchetman for whatever a hatchetless Hatchetman counts for, technically the Black Hawk KU, and most of the Bullshark, as compared to...the Stone Rhino. Just the Stone Rhino. Legend reduxes have been more evenly split, but insofar as new chasses go it's been 80+% Inner Sphere.
It's the dirty Clanners' turn for some new toys.

The Loyalty page also mentioned two new rebakes - the Grand Summoner and the Commando IIC. Guarantee the COM-IIC is a Clantech rebake of the base IS Commando skin, but it's also a 25-tonner with 2E4M minimum. Angry little splatboi. The Grand Summoner fixes pretty much everything that's wrong with the Invasion Summoner - Endo frame, no fixed jump jets (as much as I kinda hate that), with configurations that have...reasonable hardpoints. No idea if it's gonna do the same thing as the EXE-B and be back-compatible with existing Summoner pods, but if so owch. The Sumoner was apparently already a highly regarded Jumpy Snipe Boi and a decent missile carrier - the same 'mech with five-odd extra tons of pod space will be killer.
Well yahey then. Fun. Hopefully Code: Fastboi is more interesting than the Bane, though I imagine the autocannon-bloatboat enjoyers amongst the playerbase are absolutely tenting their pants at the existence of the bane rightabouts now. Heh.
