Just in time too, dual heavy gauss dual heavy ppc was about to be a thing.

Maybe dual heavy gauss and 1 heavy peep.

I'd tried theorycrafting, and you can't do it in an Annihilator without stripping almost all the mech's armour, or by running an engine far below a 300 rating. You can't carry much ammo for the gauss either.

You also need to get to extremely close range to make that work to it's strengths. Maulers could make similar builds work on the PTS because they were 4v4, it was easy to get to close range, and lack of ammo didn't really matter. An Annihilator with a 250 std will still be trying to leave the first gridsquare when the match is over.

IMHO, heavy gauss isn't going to be that common - vanilla gauss is still the better all round option.

HPPC's though, with their adjusted 15 pinpoint, might be a thing.

I'm tired of PGI nerfing the Gauss Rifle period, its supposed to be a badass weapon, low heat and high range, at the cost of being the heaviest ballistic.

Yes its makes sence to use PPC / Gauss, so be it, this is a huge part of the battletech universe.

If it were me, I would hold as closely to the TT weapon ratings as possible. Its sad PGI has to make rocket launchers do an outrageous amount of damage, while ruining what little reason was left to use Gauss Rifles. The range on heavy gauss is a joke too. If you spend all that tonnage on a weapon, it should be something scarry on the battlefield.

I'm also tired of all the buffs to light mechs, and the nerfs to assults. Light mechs should be running away from an assult, not running around in circles taking damage from the whole team like its made of adamantium.

because small autocannon, medium autocannon, large autocannon and giant autocannon sound really lame.

Well, what about the other suggestion I had - Light, Medium, Heavy and Assault?

Everything needs to be viable, otherwise no-one will play them. Since everything is weighted on damage dealt, Lights need to be able to take out an Assault 1v1. See the Light queue for how good Lights are.

Apparently its team game...

I mean if you need 3 champions with cc to take out yasuo in lol("counter him bronze, hard cc") then it shouldnt be a problem if assault stomps all over light right?

Which works the same way as taking 3 Assaults to take out a Light.

This isn't a MOBA, the only skills / abilities are damage and more damage. Maybe JJs could be considered a leap / escape ? I can't stun a 'mech to run away, though. Or silence them to prevent them attacking... well, maybe with enough Flamers Posted Image

but as 12v12 game, you just need to make sure that 12 mechs of 1 team are balanced around 12 mechs of other team or to put it bluntly, balance by tonnage.

basically 4 hbk2c + 4 tbrs + 4 direwhales or 900 tons, should be able to take on 8 direwhales + 4 locusts or 900 tons.

sure shits broken yo, orion2c still got nothing on tbr.
direwhale couldnt possibly hope to win with kodiak in any aspect(at least until it can pack 3 uac20, then it might beat it in brawl)
and list goes on

I think PGI is trying to kill their own game so when MW5 comes out with multiplayer they can sell online mekpacks and people will gladly switch over since mwo will be ruined.

You know that ppl switching over to mw5 multiplayer wouldnt be a bad idea regardless of what happens with mwo.

Hell im actually wondering why pgi havent announced mwo integration to mw5.
Since they are already building mw5 all that would be left is to transfer player progress to new service and launch multiplayer for free with singleplayer as purchase, akin to dragon age inquisition.

Gauss/PPC is what primarily keeps the uber strong laser vomit in check under the skill tree, especially dangerous loadouts like the cMPL boats which now have AMAZING heat efficiency and sustained DPS.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...32c314d51c5565f
ill give you heat efficiency.
but 5.65 sustained dps is laughable.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...1d942a562d47d6c
this thing lobs 40 dmg at range, though itll jam occasionally.
it also got 6.64 sustained dps and you really need to work hard to overheat it.

nerf laservomit and youll end with dakka and you cant nerf dakka any further.

And it still keeps it in check. you just have to fire your gauss and ppcs half a second apart.
