Ignoring the approach the OP took to make their point...he is right.

Lights are way too durable in this game and some have been for awhile. Armor creep and broken hitboxes are not a new thing. The skill tree just accelerated lights becoming mini-assaults.

The reason why? PGI has given up on creating dynamic game play involving roles. Instead rewards are damage/KMDD centric so they have been slowly buffing lights to make their scores more consistently competitive with the other weight classes.

If you had told me 5 years ago that MWO was going to evolve to a twitch shooter I wouldn't have spent a dime on it. But here we are.

Roles and a new scoring system are the solution. But we have a better chance of hearing a trump apology.

First off some of you have a few lights missing in your chandeliers I said I was in a Warhammer = Heavy the 2 lights were on or close to our spawn point under 30 seconds the game started so something is wrong there? next I was within 4 mech of my lance mates called for help and died in about 10 seconds later before they could help me.

Like I said all lights are not the problem just the OP lights that don't take proper damage lets see Locust-Spider-Arctic Cheater-ETC. Some of you just want to post trash comments because you are yourself so OP it never happens to you no matter your tier or skills or your defending OP lights because you pilot them to troll others in game.

PGI needs to rebalance lights that are too OP and can tank any mechs even assaults.

Look at your stats, they're absolutely TERRIBLE
That is a consistent problem, the issue always being you, as the pilot


A handful of Light robots being viable doesn't change that, it just makes you sad

The only thing missing was that MAC guns are OP as well.

When I pilot my light mechs im always looking for the flanks and the lone mechs to get around and behind. LRM boats are my favorite meal who refuse to stay with the group. IF another light comes with me we can chew up a lone mech real quick.

My Arctic Cheetah is not a OP build but it suits my snipe hit and run tactics, 4 Heavy mediums, 2 srm 4/ecm. If I get behind you thats 40 damage and then some criting srm's to do some component damage.

I know who you are Cuban the reason the ststs on this account are what they are is this is a pug try everything builds tactics whatever account I don't care what you or anyone thinks really your mostly just tools and care less about fixing MWO anyways.

First off, I personally feel that MGs are a bit OP right now, they are pretty close to insta-killing guns when armor is off and there are more than 2 of them. And of course, one of the easiest, if occasionally innacurate, ways to look at OPness is by looking at how much people are pulling them, and currently MGs and Air Strikes are being put on any mech that can carry them, so I say they are at least a little bit (but not extremely) OP right now. So feeling miffed about being killed by a MG boating light is totally understandable.

That aside remember that all classes are supposed to be equal. And with that in mind, no matter what metric you use, Lights are UP right now. They cant manage to get the same damage scores or match scores as heavier mechs and are consistently the least played class (another test for UPness, how uncommon they are). The ideology of role warefare means that each class is different but equal, so I dont see why you would be mad that the fastest class in the game has an advantage over the slowest mech in the game. I feel that lights 1v1ing assaults and winning is how it should be generally, because they are specifically gearing up speed over firepower while assaults are doing the opposite. Heavies and Mediums should have enough mobility to counter lights 1V1 and win handedly (as they mostly do). Assaults have a downside, and that is mobility. A mech designed around mobility should be able to exploit that weakness. But in your situation, 2 lights versus a heavy, balance requires you lose that fight unless you are very skilled or have a good anti light loadout. The problem came fron A. Your team not helping and B. MGs are a bit too much right now. Not because those particular lights are OP (Admittedly I am a bit sceptical of the Artic Cheetahs overall balance though, but then again lights as a whole need to be improved overall)

MWO must not be fixed for bad players, bad players have to fix themselves first.
It's called git gut and this is true for every game.

Next thing you will complain about is team work when a coordinated group constantly wrecks your face if you play as part of an uncoordinated one. (BTW we had that already, kinda hilarious)

If something doesnt work out for you probably YOU are the reason and not something else.

Lights don't need another nerf, you just need to learn how to counter them.

We have told you how to counter them but I guess that goes against your hugbox. So go ahead and continue to be terrible.

Has anyone seen Africa: The Serengeti? Same thing applies here in MWO. When a predator spots a pack of walking meals they do not attack directly, they lie in wait for that derp in the very back, by himself.

Why do they do this? Because it's easy prey. Two lights spotted their next meal and it happened to be Y-O-U.

It happens, the game isn't garbage just because of that particular moment... you just wanted to vent. It's fine, but do it here and some will just laugh at you.

Best thing for you to do is learn from your mistakes and move on.

I'll tell you my secret. Those machine guns the Lights use are even more effective vs Lights. You just carry a few and watch them run. Just get a mech with a few spare ballistic hardpoints. Once everyone carries MGs they will be nerfed cause PGI hates metas*.

Destroyers in WoWS don't have a citadel to hit. So your super amazing Battleship is a sitting deck to an up close and personal torp attack from a destroyer. Same thing applies in MWO except there are no torps and your back needs to be protected. If you stand in the open by yourself waving candy at someone, a couple of lights will take the opportunity to put you down and make a fool out of yourself.

Mountain Lions do the same thing when hunting humans. They trail the group and wait for someone to fall behind. Something worth knowing.
