Uhm...why would people stop playing MWO because another game doesn't fullfil their expectations?
But you can put your fears to rest - I'm sure you can transfer all the 'Mechs you owned when MWO was in 3025.
You would have to follow the discussion I had with with Appogee
He said
He wouldn't be surprised if they close MWO and make MW5 onl8ne as well
In a way porting MWO over
And I said
That be fine as long as they transfer my stuff (or all players really)
He said
No way PGI would do that
And I said , finally getting to the quote you had there:
Say goodbye to half the player base
In this imaginary case of MWO closing and MW5 being a "replacement"
So no, I didn't say half the player base would abandon MWO because of MW5 something something
I said half the player base might never spent any buck any more buying Mech Packs for MW5 if they close MWO and not transfer the inventory
At least for me I wouldn't spend another 1.5k $ on MW5 so I can have the same Mechs again in the imaginary online part of MW5
Personally I don't think spending customers would come back spending again after that, especially big time spending
And would also most likely leave some flaming comments/reputation on steam as well
Assuming MW5 can be had over steam as well at that point
And why couldn't I have my clan toys then?
And IS Mechs till 3049
We're talking about porting over the inventory database
If MW5 would replace MWO then why would they not include the clan Mechs as well
In the online part
Which is imaginary at this point
They already have the models
