Yes FP scoring is flawed.
No I don't see how a Tie happened. Give the IS the Mauler and let me keep my 4mil.

I like the piranha enough that I'll keep my basic pack - not going to upgrade it now, when I was planning to turn it into a ultimate pack along with my Arctic wolf upgrades...but this might be the last straw for me - if future FW events 'victory' conditions are weighted so far into the IS side, and PGI still throws this "oh its a tie" crap to deny all players on both sides a mech. Nothing more from my wallet unless they prove me wrong otherwise. IS should have gotten a Mauler if they kept the bloody planet.
I stayed in MWO for CW/FW - since it is the only mode that matters - no matching making, you get to have tactics before hand...if you don't play as a team, you will get curbstomped and rightfully so. Oh well, I might log in once in a while now, no more spending RL cash, Star Citizen seems to be a much better option now, afterall....the 3.0 EVOCATI should be out soon.

Edit - the champion mist lynx would have been nice but I'd prefer the cash. I feel like a Price is Right contestant turning down a Yugo for the purchase price + sympathy bonus.

However, there could be more here than meets the eye, as providing full rewards to all players should not be a problem (just changing some database values, no?). Perhaps they never anticipated a tie in the first place, and somehow there is now a line of janky code running around (and when they tested full rewards in DEV, it broke something). Just a shot in the dark - I could be wrong.
Anyway, I hope this situation is due to technical problems, as the alternative would be unfortunate. A good rule of thumb in sports is that when a tie happens, everyone is a winner.

1. Do whatever you need to do to earn your swag.
2. Ignore the big goal of the event until the last two hours because absolutely nothing matters until then.
3. Hope like hell the end of the event happens when there will actually be online.

Went to attempt to claim my rewards, I get an ERROR message (and no reward).
Any clue?
Thanks

My diet requires that i have extra salt and this thread fulfills all my needs.
*still annoyed about the TIE condition and NO-ONE getting any mechs, I did not expect that*

-Clans wait a long time to finally attack a planet they encircled a long, long time ago...the long delay had provoked salt from many Clan pilots
-the event is days long and invasion is totally dominated by the Clans...provoking much salt on the part many of IS pilots
-the result of the event is nearly totally determined by whoever played in the last 8 hours of the event. Provoking much salt on the part of many Clan pilots who played for days, massacred the IS in other time zones, but whose wins didn't count as the capture bar was maxed in their timezone.
-Clans still had a massive win advantage, but as they did not have it high enough (and did not win), they are not allowed to re-attack this planet to secure a season win condition...they will have to wait for the next event and move on to another planet.....yep...provoking more salt from Clan pilots
-PGI declares this a tie...everyone gets the losers prize....provoking salt from IS pilots, who held the capital planet...but that's not considered "winning" anymore.
Seems like PGI had something to grief everyone with in this event....

I played maybe 15 games as Clan and then maybe 30 as IS. For me it was okay event but this final hour push really made it memorable.
I really like the part where some people thought they would get a easy Mist Lynx and then they didn't.
I look much forward to new capital planet attacks.

Honestly you can't really expect decent FW events until the Merc units are controlled and the population recovers from their reign of terror.

I am quite happy with the time and effort vs reward ratio. I only played scouting, so for me it was totally worth it.
As for the people asking because of the redeem error: Just click the button a few times and you get the reward... and the error. Worked for me.
I still would have preferred the IS getting the mech.
And I hope something will be learned from this event. Something like rethinking the basic system for determining the winner side in such FP events. Perhaps something like "daily winners"? (as an example a 3 day battle for luthien like "event")
Day 1 side 1 wins. Players with enough total matches (and perhaps at least one victory in Invasion?) get their prize at the end of the event.
Day 2 side 2 wins. See day 1.
Day 3 side 1 wins again. With that the grand winner of the event is side 1. They get something extra to their day 1/3 win (like MC).
That change would lead to more stuff given but it shouldn't impact the participation more than the results now. As it is now it doesn't matter what was done before the last hours (which is btw. the way FP works all the time, exept for Tukayyid, which had its own ruleset... don't know why it is such a surprise).
I am looking forward to see the statistics. Hopefully they are useful
See ya all for the next invasion event, should happen soon with the state of the war atm, right?

If you were one of the loyalist factions for the event you would have likely picked up a bunch of goodies related to your factions.
Congratulations to all those who fought hard and participated and earned their rewards.
Thank you PGI.
While the forums sound like a flock of seagulls trying to get at a box of chips at the moment, it was nice to be able to get numerous quick matches when I was able to participate and there were some good competitive games in there.
Luthien may be spared at the moment but the eye will now turn to one of the other capitals.

IS didn't win this event, they forced a draw. For IS to win (and get their mech) they would have had to get the bar 90% over to the right. All the space in the middle is "draw conditions"
However, I think IS should get their mauler. Similarly if IS manage to surround a Clan homeworld and clan successfully defends, Clanners should get a mech.

But if you think about it, that's how the game works and how the real world works too. In situations of continual loss, a sudden surge by the losing team will be seen as a "victory" at the end of the surge, and that's exactly when the event ended. After that, normal victory conditions resume as the surge amounted to a symbolic act. Examples are like the Battle of the Bulge by the {Godwin's Law} in WW2, or outscoring in the 3rd quarter in basketball, but trailing in 3 other quarters and losing the match, etc. But these events are far from a tie.
If you're going to argue real world:
Then after getting pummeled from 3 1/2 days or so, the IS has no resources left at all. Zilch. So instead of fighting as if nothing happened the first few days of the event, they have to fight with, well, nothing.
Instead, the first few days of the event were treated as if they never happened, and then to make it even easier on the IS, the end of the event was scheduled on a weekday during work hours meaning that not only did the IS suffer nothing for getting stomped for three days, but then they got to fight against a tiny fraction of the potential enemies, and more importantly, none of the organized clan units.

Did we really end the whole thing at exactly 50%?
If it is....I'm going for PGI did not code the rewards for a tie...since several people (myself included) got some sort of error code when we claimed the rewards...
