I'm okay with that Yokia... besides it smells like month old sushi and fermented rice in the cockpit... ;)

We'll the Zeus is in game, and you don't see any other Steiners freaking out about it. The Fafnir is coming so what? I'm kind of shocked you don't want your flagship faction mech being in game, because of you being Kurita and all.

It’s official, this thread is now the Charger/Hatamoto Awareness Thread until both mechs are in the game (I don’t care if one or the other comes out first though). I’ll be updating the thread to find anything for the mechs. Feedback is welcome except for, “Hey, remove the Hatamoto from the thread.” Because that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon.

There are so many mechs they should introduce. And so many we'll never see due to timeline, or tech, or whatever.

[wistful sighing intensifies]

I hope they at least listen to the community on this one.

I'll be sure to buy one, dress it up in Steiner Livery, and be better than you at driving it, then.

Anything to piss Kurita off, slaver weeaboo tryhards.

To be honest, if the Charger comes out, this could be a steppingstone for the Hatamoto because PGI could take the Charger mod and easily remodel it with a samurai aesthetic and rename it as an extra variant. It could be like the using parts of Clan Omnis to model Clan Mechs.

I like the idea. It's a 'mech pack that really spans all the timelines. Good for those upcoming SW-era games, good for MWO.

Yes, include the Charger! Everyone wants an 80 ton mech armed with only five standard Small Lasers! Posted Image

In theory, you could even use the bolt-on modeling to turn Charger into Hatamoto. They really are all but cosmetically twins.

And it's a large and versatile 80-ton family of chassis. One of the best older models undone in that regard.

Seriously, look back a page at the A5 and A9 variant Chargers, they are brutal... also, in TT if the Charger gets off a full run charge, it'll slam into something for 56 points of damage....

Also you can convert the Charger into a "Challenger" variant if you feel that the Small Lasers and high speed is not to your liking. I can imagine seeing many "Challengers" in MWO.

Can you explain what a challenger variant is? It sounds interesting.

The Challenger is a special variant of the Charger that was made to correct the mistake of the original Charger-1A1. So far it was made by the Hat-in-the-Ring Battalion in 3025 to fix its flaw of being undergunned. It removes the 5 Small Lasers and replaces them with 4 Large Lasers and a Medium Laser and use a 240 Standard Engine to 54 kph bring its speed in line with other Assault Mechs. Even though most people call the mech the Challenger, it was given designation of CGR-SB

But in MWO it will probably be like this.

Challenger CGR-SB
Weapons and Equipment:
Head - Medium Laser
Center Torso - N/A
Right Torso - Large Laser
Left Torso - Large Laser
Right Arm - Large Laser
Left Arm - Large Laser

Engine: 240 STD = 40 KPH
Debuted: 3025
Estimated Hardpoints

Ah thanks for the info. I think I'll stick with speed over raw firepower must be a clanner thing I'm so use to. But a quick glance over on the variants and stuff I think I can dig the Charger.

My personal favorite is the A5, she's 4/6 but packs serious CQB firepower, pair it with an A9 for medium to long range support and you get a real nasty one two combination.

The Challenger was the 3025-era solution to an oversized engine: Downgrade the engine.

MWO pilots will be able to go with a survivable LFE, endosteel upgrades, etc instead if they want similar firepower in that style. But there's pretty much something for anyone with the sheer number of variants from the 3025-tech era onwards.

Hatamoto is just the Draco's attempt to turn their crappy Chargers into wannabe Thugs. Seriously. Look at the loadouts of the Thug and Hatamoto.

Just gimme a real Thug, mmmmkthx? :P

The Awesome already does the same things the Thug can do. Also, the Thug doesn't have a jumper nor a ballistic variant. The best thing you can hope for is that the ECM Thug variant comes out as a reinforcement or a Loyalty Mech. Even then, it still wouldn't help matters, given the generic Energy/Missile hardpoints it has. So I'll stick with the Hatamoto.

Bring on the THUG!

And the Hatamoto-Chi. I’d buy that.
