If happen, it is on a waaaaaaaaay lower occurence than graphics fubars, lag shields, and/or hit reg in combination with the first two.

Mesh issues and invisible walls... seriously, people don't need to hack they just have to pay attention to how things behave.

Can someone please explain to this noob, what weapons retrofit means? Thanks!

Makes the chassis able to show the new weapons with the proper geometry (30 tubes for an MRM 30, for example).

Is that all it means for weapon retrofit? It does not mean change in weapon hardpoints?

Pretty much.

Semi-not-so-recently added new weapons have a lot of missing 3D models on the dozens upon dozens of variants.

The retrofit adds them. For example before custom weapon geometry, the weapons never changed, it took over 5 months for all the mechs to finally have them. And it was a lot fewer mechs in 2013/2014.

This did once change a ferro to an endo steel (Firebrand) and once changed a base weapon loadout (La Malanche hero video shows standard lasers...and pulse lasers... but only has pulse lasers and only advertises pulse lasers so somewhere in filming they changed the base loadout).

They have changed some hardpoints but only on heroes that were considered pay2win as pointed out later. Or released additional variants with similar abilities to have a chill alternative.

They have never changed hardpoints.

<<<snip>>>

They have never changed a hardpoint setup.

Even though I hate to say it, that's incorrect, and this one still leaves a headache in my mind when I think of it... Read "News Regarding Latest Wave of Clan Hero 'Mechs" @ https://mwomercs.com/news/2017/04/1789-news-regarding-latest-wave-clan-hero-mechs for the proof. Too many out there had to be whiners, instead of allowing it to release, show possibilities, and then be adjusted when people had better understanding than the fear that they decided to collapse into. There's also at least one other incident, but I don't need to be making this post really long, so just post back with a quote & request if you want the link. :(

The sad thing is... I had read that... and therefore should have known it.
But it slipped my mind.

Though I can't think of what the other incident was. La Malinche isn't counting 'cause of jumpjet removal, is it? Like the Banshee heroes on Sarna, the weight difference of pulse lasers versus the regular lasers featured in the video would make sense...if consumed by a few jumpjets. Virtually every Banshee hero on Sarna lists jumpjets while the non-heroes don't. Doesn't take much to put together what probably happened there.

Damn it you have me curious.. What other mech got changed?

I know Firebrand I discovered on my own, it happened while I owned it in fact because I had made the mech in Megamek and it worked great in tabletop, fitting well alongside the other Jagers because of ferro, then during a sale I had considered getting a second one when I discovered it suddenly had endo instead and to make up for the weight difference they gave it a little extra in heatsinks to make it more appealing (people thought that the ferro to endo switch was just an "extra tax" and nobody liked gimped heroes where you had to waste cbills on the tax to change that.)

(Its a funny thing to be worth noting, but actually the change from ferro to endo, when plugged into megamek, made the Firebrand nearly useless in campaigns as the average mercenary can't get access to endo without an exorbitant premium and that's if you're not doing contracts against the only factions that even have access to endo. Basically if you're up against Marik, kiss endo goodbye as the only way you're getting it is salvage. Comstar isn't sharing, and the other factions buy theirs from Marik.)

A comment to all of those "Where is ______ for Solaris?!?!?" people:

Let them get Solaris 7 working first, then request things.

Then I will completely go against my comment and place two ideas that I think would be fun to have in the far future:
Locust Nascar Death Racing. The one and only time you will need significantly more back armor than front armor! Everyone gets a Locust with a max XL Engine and MASC locked in. There will be a couple of variants with different weapon hardpoints. The only thing you can change are the weapons and the armor distribution. Race around an oval track. You can stop and even turn to face backwards. HOWEVER, If you actually go backwards, ERLL turrets mounted across the course will lock onto you and destroy you. First one to complete the race or the last one standing wins!
Time Attack Obstacle Course. Put your piloting and building skills to the test! Go around a set course as fast as possible for leaderboard rewards! Do you bring weapons to knock down walls? Do you bring jump jets to get around pesky ledges and gaps? Or do you cram the fastest engine in and go fast? The map will change every Solaris cycle so that one build will never rule over everything.

Light = Locust
Medium = Cicada
Heavy = Sun Spider
Assault = ???

Just need one more design to complete the set!

Not another copy of Critical Rockets work, please no!! Rocket has now run 2 mech racing series on his live streams one was spec racer Locust the other spec racer Spider. Check Youtube if you don't believe me.

Here's your answer... "Update Regarding the Clan IIC Hero 'Mechs" @ https://mwomercs.com/news/2017/05/1830-update-regarding-clan-iic-hero-mechs ...enjoy the read. :)

EDIT : If there's any more than this other one, I'm unaware of them at this time... And waitaminute, the Banshee lost JumpJets? :blink:

Faction Play Changes
Faction Play as a whole is currently in the early stages of a thorough review, while Solaris 7 is nearing its release in April. It was important for us that Faction Play run smoothly during this time frame, therefore we have made a list of changes that will help remove the points of friction to the player experience:
  • Players will no longer be penalized for breaking Loyalty pledges or Mercenary Contracts.
  • Contracts will now remain active until manually cancelled, and the cancellation of a Mercenary Contract will not incur a penalty.
  • As a result, Unit Leaders and members with sufficient permissions can take new Faction Contracts or Loyalist pledges for the Unit at any time.
  • There are no Desertion phases after breaking Contracts or Loyalty. However, the Loyalist Probationary period starting from the initial pledge remains in place.
  • Freelancers will now be able to respond to standard Call To Arms. They are no longer restricted to the last-minute Emergency Call To Arms.

So basically all we have to look forward to is Solaris? I'm bored already. I'll try it out. But I'm not excited about it. Was hoping to hear something interesting.

So does that mean we will have to buy all new mechs again lol

No, they said you can use the same Mechs for Solaris that you use for QP and FW, although I am sure you would want to tailor the build for the game mode.

Interested to see how the new mechlab works with triple monitors. Currently the background disappears on the far left screen. A full 3d implementation should sort that. Can't wait. :)

The Solaris Heroes seem rather disappointing, sadly.

Sure they will eventually fit their Solaris mech tier fittingly, at least that is a saving grace! Anyway, if they made them too strong everyone would be complaining PTW.. ..its a fine balance..
