Honestly, I like how the side saying 'go back to general discussion' is resulting to insults and attacks and derision instead of using the facts they claim to hold to be their baseline for replies.

In a way you are right. Telling someone that they should go away with their opinion is not really a way to have a conversation.

The problem is the person in question makes statements on how he feels things should be done, and is blatantly anti-unit. He doesn't respond to logic, nor when his feelings on the hows or whats others should be doing is challenged, can he provide any reasonable reasoning beside that's what he thinks should be done.

However he does from time to time have some good stuff to say, and he is certainly knowledgeable about lore and other things.

It is all in the presentation however. If you come in like a boss and tell others how everything should be in absolutes, you'll find people put off by it.

So if you look back at his posts, he is one of the most argumentative folks around and that history more than whatever the current issue being discussed, is what people react to.

Personally I try to put that aside (with varying success) and try to listen to what he has to say, as not everything is out there or bad.

Which shows what, that they took a Davion contract? Did KCom go loyalist?

You do understand that mercs earn Merc loyalty points, not faction loyalty? If KCom wanted Davion points they'd have to give up Merc status and sign as Davion loyalists. You understand that, right? Do you understand how Merc status works?

I'm hardly new.

Just took keep things fresh and for sanity sake I think we went IS, Davion Loyalist.

huh? ive had multiple accounts since closed beta.

its not bypassing the penalty since theyre separate accounts.

i dont gain anything on my primary account which is clan when I play IS with my secondary account.

whereas allowing units to constantly hop around and change IS to clan and back whenever they want is completely different. it allows your primary account to reap all the benefits of faction hopping, without the downside of having to split rewards between multiple accounts. thats the whole reason the loyalty penalty was added in the first place. PGI was not wrong in discouraging that, it was just the wrong way of going about it. because it was geared mostly towards penalizing the players who abused it but it also penalized players who didnt abuse it and only sparingly changed factions.

im not saying my way is necessarily the best way either. im just saying constant faction hopping is not something that should be allowed.

I'm admittedly confused here. You have multiple accounts, and having those allows you as a player to bounce back and forth between factions at will. So, instead of switching loyalty to a different faction, you simply swap over to an account already loyal to said faction. Please explain to me how the mechanics of that on a player level is any different than simply swapping factions on the same account. As far as number of players goes, the number remains unchanged, you're simply using semantics to justify your version of allegiance hopping. If there is a difference, please spell it out for us.

a single player cant influence the outcome of events though, but units with hundreds of players can

not only that, but theres incentive to switch to the winning side since they took away the ability to get tags and mc for a successful defense

Can you name these units with hundreds of players? I'd really like to fight them some time. Like today, tomorrow, actually any day of the week during US prime time? Maybe they are on during the ghost town of Oceanic prime time? Seriously, this argument hasn't been even remotely relevant since FP 2.0. Every active FP unit that switches between clan and IS switches for one of two reasons. Either they rotate on a fixed schedule, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, or they switch based on population to get the shortest queue times or most competitive matches.

If you don't want to name them, then please at least tell me about when they drop FP, cause I'd love to be on the opposite side getting instadrops.
