Ask the ISEN guys. They have all the data pulled down, shouldn't take too much effort to do some data collection from it.

I play all weight classes, and I honestly do not have a problem fighting enemy Piranha.

And I haven't even bothered putting any effort into the game in the last 2 months. Piranha are just hilariously fragile and easy to kill.

Hell no. My aim is atrocious. It's a good day when I can kill a Jenner, let alone a Piranha. I have killed a few, but only the ones driven by people who quite obviously haven't figured out lights yet. Don't stand still guys.

But I know how to survive them, and I shared it on the first page of this thread - Stay with the group. Ask for help. And stop driving the slowest thing in your mechbay. Good Piranhas wont even try to engage you most of the time if they think you'll be supported, and bad Piranhas are, well, bad, so you should be ok.

The failure is not the Piranha. The Piranha has a ton of flaws: Knife Fighter almost exclusively, it is friggin huge for a light, you say tunnel vision - try piloting one of them (seriously one of the most claustrophobic cockpits), any other than the MG one heat up so fast... etc...

As far as LIGHTS go, once the magic wears off they will still be baller, just the nature of the shape of the mech, that said it is still just a light mech. Learn the circle of mechs dude Lights<Mediums<Larges<Assaults<Lights<etc...

and I'm surprised that it lacks any arm hardpoints at all, that's a major disadvantage particularly for an assault

then again I've yet to hear anyone complain about getting ambushed by lights in a Banshee, it's usually the Dire Idiot pilots who are the biggest whiners

What stats i have not used my piranhas since the event? If stats are telling you otherwise those stats are inaccurate.. I still use light mechs though not my Piranhas.

Its actually not the mech itself its the mass amount of Machine guns it can boat murders everything.

And here's a basic visual tutorial of how to deal with the threat. The only other step I would add is if possible put your back to a wall. Here that would have been useless, so if the wall is not good enough to put your back to, this is what you do.

Note the throttle especially.

Honestly, Samial, I've played with you - I don't need to check stats to know you didn't really ruin many, or any, Mechwarrior's games. Others may be inclined to check your stats since the drop of the Piranha (The light leaderboard) though to verify that.

I don't need to put lit firecrackers up my rear to know it's a bad idea, and I don't need to spend 15 bucks to know how to deal with a light mech that is in virtually every one of my last 150 matches.

The idea that a person can only understand mechs they personally own or play is absurd, and I suspect you know that.

When I was playing Warhammer 40K (Tau) my army's light vehicles had an enhancement you could add on called "anti-personel munitions"(?). They're basically one-shot claymores that would go off if the vehicle was being assaulted. Maybe something like that for MWO? Make it a one-shot that takes up slots in the legs?

Lights should be utilizing hit/run tactics, not have the ability to face tank an assault. If MWO had implemented actual physical attacks such as punching and kicking, then things would become interesting...

All things considered, I'd love the lights to remain where they are.
Why? Because there are specialist mechs for the job. They are called "Streak boats". Then we add otherwise not that great "medium" mechs to the mix, which got enough agility to track lights.
Add arty strikes, pinpoint accuracy turrets, ammo explosions pretty much insta-killing you no matter what… also, last but not least, lights die easily to lucky shots with anything that does 12+ damage pinpoint.
I actually have to wear 5 armour points on the backs of my locusts simply so they could live through gauss shot up the arse.

One thing that begs for changes though? Escort mode. Jammers all around = immunity to streak boats which can't even dumb-fire their missiles. That means that lights get free buckets of chicken and I think they should actually work for them. And if your lances are particularly heavy, nothing you can do against swarm of locusts/piranhas/javelins taking full control over vital points.

Escort is not a picnic for Lights, either. They will always eat at least 10 damage from every turret and, when you are driving something that only has 20 points per torso, that's brutal.
