What do you guys think would be a good hero? As I said I liked the idea of a 25t Flea, an mg boat with masc to accentuate the lasers and missiles.

STD engine. 20 HMGs.

MGs do seem like a natural choice considering its a light pirate Mech, and many of the pirate's targets would be protected by local PBI militia.
Snubs are a good idea too, however extremely rare during the FCCW. From a lore point of view, I'd go for rocket launcers as they were totally common by the end of the FCCW. Also, it might be interesting in game to soften them up with rockets and kill them with MG. Not sure though...

Haha that could be an interesting mech. I guess I'd just wonder about the staying power of a RL backed mg boat.

In MWO it'd probably operate like a regular MG boat with additional one-shot punch. That is... if people bother using the RL at all. Even at 25t the Brigand might struggle to properly boat MG; those .5t MGs are heavy...

Yeah 6 is probably the maximum, especially to have any extras like JJs of MASC

IS needs it's own version of the Piranha.

Yeah but sadly the IS's mgs weigh twice as much as Clan mgs. It's strange to say something that weighs 0.50 tons is heavy but compared to something that is 0.25 it is actually at a large disadvantage.

Yup... but that's why ALL THE HARDPOINTS won't be as broken as Pauls and Russ's fear of that 6 MG Spider.

Basically all that are canon and possible in MWO; that's four already (LDT-1, -X1, -X2, -X3). Although the hardpoints are similar in most cases, the weapons themselves are not which means quirks can easily make a difference. PPC-quirks for the X3, laser duration quirks for the X1 etc.

The XPR2 can easily be adapted by just using a Guardian ECM instead of an Angel, and adding a JJ or a SL.

My MWO-style redesigned Brigand for TheArisen.Posted Image
Some hero variant sketches: first is something like 8xLMGs boat and second is my idea of giving it some high mounted right torso energy hardpoint and center torso missile, for the price of one arm hardpoint, with stock LPPC SRM4 3xERSML.Posted Image

Crazy idea for a hypothetical mg boat hero. What if it got MG fire rate increased by 40%, 50% something? With 6 mgs that'd be as if it had 9 which is still short of the Piranha but it'd be something.
