Before you had one; You added more firepower as the other option was just flat out impractical. Now, the second option is just as valid.

I'm not delusional i've been keeping tabs of people leaving every time a play style is crushed in the name of "balance" these changes have RUINED the community by alienating players. This is just the most recent and most obvious.

At least direct fire will be supreme now... oh wait, it was! I'm just amused that people thought the day before the patch it would be lurmageddon, and now it's like lums suck.

I like the LRM changes, but I do feel like AMS was over tuned a bit too much. If they removed the LRM missile health nerf and tweaked AMS values I'd think missiles would be in a good spot. Also think that AMS should be less effective against SRM's and MRM's/ATM's.

Because IS LRMs travel in a bunch while Clan flies in a stream. Meaning AMS has more time to shoot at clan missiles than IS and achieve better missile kill results.

I get that, but under that logic why wasn't it progressive then? not 5s: 1hp, 10s: 1hp, 15s: 1hp, 20s: 2hp ?!?!

You still saying they dont contribute ? Lunacy. I cant count how matches i have been in that we won due to our lrm boats. Im a light pilot mostly , i go out and UAV the enemy team just for our lrm boats. Part of the game. Im sure you dont mind when your in a match and your lrm boat assault teamate that is sitting in the back ends up with 700-1000 damage and has 3 to 5 kills.

Every single game I've seen an LRM assault get that high damage, its either A) in Faction play or B) they were up with their team, sharing their armor, and providing efficient fire support from 300-400m where its far less likely your lock will break before your LRMs impact.

And please re-read what I said. I never said they didn't contribute. The problem is, they either contribute a whole hell of a lot, or they contribute barely anything (usually the latter, but the former is still relevant enough that I will admit it happens)..And I never said ALL LRM Assaults, just the LRM Assaults that sit 700m+ from the fight occationaly clicking to hope they do some damage before the lock is broken.

Bet you lost more with Assaults squirreling all that armour away on the backline sand blasting walls with missiles though. If one must run an LRM boat, at least don't fill an Assault slot with it.

I feel pitty for whoever was on the recieving end of that skumboat. That must have been so frustrating and completely ruining their enjoyment of the game and experience they are having with the product.
