Piranha.
Mobility is KEY here.
And the kind of ammount of MG's that can take down MECHS should be GOOD for taking down ZOMBIES.

I have to agree. the Piranha was the first mech to come to my mind as well. You can use the lasers most of the time and the MGs when you need to hold a position. You are also fast enough to run from anything you can't fight. It also has hands for clearing rubble or salvaging.

Short question.

Why bother killing the Zombies anyway ?

I mean each an every Mech is capable of just stomping through them would there ever be the need to. Its not like the Zombies would be able to scratch a Mech even a light one at the slightest chance.

So considering this and the fact that there would probably be more survivors in Mechs just clear out a Base with walls and defensive structures and be done with it. Energy turrets kill everything in range and if the base has open areas make fields to grow food and have a nice time watching the Zombies rot until there is none left.

You people overcomplicate everything ...

my thoughts exactly.
killing zombies would IMO be more like "sports" than doing it to survive

I would go with a Piranha (prime), introduced 3051 (Clan Diamond Shark).
Small and fast! Twelve Machine Guns? Heck yeah! Sounds good against Zombies. If i run out of ammo, i still have two ER Medium Lasers and and ER Small Laser to vaporize them. And it is such a beautiful mech.

Will there be ...ZOMBIE MECHS?!?!

I give you the Cauldron Born (Ebon Jaguar)

Named after the zombies of Irish myth, Inner Sphere warriors that first encountered it during the Battle of Luthien called this 'Mech the Cauldron-Born.

Mechs are big. Lots of moving parts, complex circuitry, etc. What happens when you are moving rubble around and your hand / muzzle gets hit with some debris and you have to run off and try to fix it? What will you do in the mean time to defend yourself? And what people forget about those nuclear reactors is that they do actually consume fuel, have waste, and require maintenance. So unless you have a hazmat suit, and know how to replace uranium fuel rods etc, a mech is not a good idea.

uranium fuel rods? umm... i think you mistake them for the crappy nuclear reactors WE use today.... actually, Mechs use FUSION reactors, they transmute Hydrogen into Helium, and there´s very little need of "waste disposal" or refilling, for their "fuel" lasts longer than you live.

Hmm id prefer a Puma but im not sure if thats out yet? its fast, small, and no ammo with the PPCs and i think in MW3 it also had a flamer.
But if its not available then an Elemental with a Iron Man paint job : )

Eheh.. this looks like fun. Killing for the good of humanity. :)

Obviously i would take a light mech, fast and effective with Jump Jets for emergency situations, and with just 2 pulse lasers on so i can do target practice.. loool :o

Flamethrowers aren't ammo dependent, since they only dump excessive heat. Same as the Jump jets. :)

Why all the energy boats? Do you know how ineffective those weapons are against infantry? Your Lasers and PPC will, most of the time, kill only one or two litte zombie kids per shot. Have you ever seen a zombie movie where you had time to kill them that slowly?

Flamer and Mashine Guns should be your weapons of choice when dealing with such soft targets. So I'm with the firestarter crowd on this one. Then those brainless fools can't even sneak up on your rear, because you have a flamer there as well.

Think i would want a Sirocco, nice and slow with lots of weapons to cover all the sides. Would maybe put a small house on top to relax.

Puma (with flamer instead of ppc`s) for the "infight" or an Blood Asp (bigger Feet and more space fore more flamer and more fun) :)

The Bounty Hunter's Timber Wolf. 100% pulse laser arsenal. And it's a Timber Wolf. What's not to love?

Traditionally, the lasers spend some time firing. You could just rake the beam across a crowd and be done with most of them. The primary point of these energy boats is the lack of dependency on ammunition. I love a gauss rifle as much the next mechjock, but lasers would be more practical.

Mad cat Mk2
so that when all the other mech's have cleaned up the infestation I will have one of the highest tech Mech's around
dont need a Mech to survive a zombie infestation

better topic: which mech do you choose when the zerg invade with the Zel naga?

...but what happens when the zombies infect the elementals?

You will want more than a firestarter at that point.

Do you even need weapons? I don't think the zombies can get to you when you 10+ meters off the ground unless you have a ladder or something to the cockpit. But I'd probably go with a firestarter.
