Light Mechs Are Screwed Up

This does not say to me that light mechs are the problem. This says that positioning that fafnir is the problem. Perhaps your play style would be aided by a slightly faster mech, one that does not get isolated and left behind by the team as easily to be chewed up by lone skirmishes. Yes, the fafnir can mount a veritable delete button against other mechs, but you have to be in the right place to use it, instead of in the wrong place to get eaten.

yeah a Fafnir -- and I'm assuming dual-HG here? -- is insta-avoid for any smart light pilot, unless they can get a free backstab and bounce.

Are you certain it was your front torso? The rear armor is usually paper thin, and if he got a shot off on a rear side torso and detonated the heavy gauss rifle with a crit... that would do it. And a light mech could do that from the front easily enough if your side torso armor was already below 30. It's not magic.

Yes it did happen almost a Year and half ago...
For 20 games with average matchscore of "lights are stupidly OP and I won't play them ever again because it would break the balance of the MWO" 134

True, but being stuck in the mud or moving more slowly in water would kinda suck in a FPS environment, so we don't.

they whine about not being good at lights, then they whine about not being good at assaults. i see a pattern. id fathom to guess they don't do well in mediums and heavies as well.

And a 100T (B.) mech would be able to delete the 20T (A) mech on it's approach in a single shot/volley.
The 100T (B.) mech has failed to do its job if that has allowed (A) to do such naughty things.
There is your A and B.
And here ends the latest "lights are OP" thread.
You're also neglecting the usual phenomenon of teammates shooting anything near them, especially a light mech hardly moving in close range, which happens to be the exact position a leg-hugging light mech is in.
Still, unpopular opinion, judge me if you want, but I think it's dumb that lights can leg hump. It's not that big of a deal in quickplay, but in Solaris or something it is cancer.

Maybe I missed a comment in this thread, but I don't think anyone here has suggested an assault mech will mathematically lose against a light mech. It can certainly be difficult, but it isn't zero.

my guy.
try a different mech. The fafnir just isn't doing it for ya. The game isn't bad because you are having a bad time. You are just having a bad time. There are resources to help you improve your game if you're willing. People are dragging you because you aren't.

Perhaps it is the right time to change your tactics, your 'Mech or both.
