There are some things that say otherwise, ie. your whole posting history

edit: lol you played eve for 10 years

Forum days as in "eve forums", get it right. If you call hanging with the eve community a year or more before alpha play then yes, it's 10 years or so.

Edit: Also, eve wise you know sqwat about me. so yes, lets lol

By the way, shouldn't you be banned with a name like that? I'm not sure about others here, but I find it's sexual overtone offensive. I see you lot are staying true to your subtle offensive methods. Then again why shouldn't you? You've all had lots of practice over in the Eve community.

He is clearly a lord on the great planet of Butte Hold I fail to see anything sexual there.

Eve was released when? May, 2003? The eve forums had been going for about a year to a year and a half before, it is now 2012. Do the math bub.

Will you please stop trying to instigate a fight between goons and yourself just so mods come in and lock the thread?

Mods can you guys do you job and start handing out temp bans to people for "goon" posts because it's incredibly tiresome seeing the same dumb mini-drama on a weekly basis.

This. Although TBH, some of the Goons here need to figure this out too.
I don't think you understand what it is that we do.

It's clear the Goon's hate this community,
Are you, with your terrible posting, representative of the community? If so you are correct, we hate this community. I've seen quite a few other posters here who I didn't find objectionable, so I guess you're not representative. Good thing right?

How do you 'win' EVE? ;)
By uninstalling the client. I won within ten minutes of starting a trial. Best speed run ever.

Sure, I can agree to that.

Anyway, I was just browsing the House Liao area, a thread in there called Organizing House Liao

There's a little posting in there that maybe of interest to the rest of the MWO community who browse this thread. Let see if this quote below really is the case, I guess only time will tell now. If they are truly on it, then more power to MWO devs and Piranha in making this a wild fun game that's not messed up by this griefer lot.

MWO and Piranha are all over it, on top of it and as I have been told, have no intentions of allowing any group or entity the opportunity to railroad the intended success of MWOmercs.

So......lets all BETA and get our packages and ready up for the upcoming launch of a fantastic game!

>salute<

[quote name='"Buttlord"]Yes' date=' goons will make fun of you, and try to get you mad about internet robots (SQUAWK). The reason for this is that a big portion of the pre-existing Battletech community is quite simply made up of insufferable grognards that are too socially maladjusted, insular, and downright wrong in the head NOT to make fun of.[/quote']

Samuikaze, Please take a moment to consider how this quote applies to you and your current situation re: Goons and RoboJox Online

I did listen to the pod cast already. It didn't sound so bad. I'm not going to say anything rude about them, but there are some things I think we should keep in mind.

1st, no matter how noble the leadership may seem, whether they are what they appear or not, there will always be the little guys at the bottom of the ladder doing stupid **** just to stir **** up. And they may not necessarily even be in a Goons group for that matter. Note half the posts in this thread and many others like it.

2nd, Yes keep in mind that the story of the game is entirely Dev controlled, so that's a moot point.

3rd, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have not read a single thing about player resources. So I don't see how that can be used as a meta game. Far as I know the economy is completely system controlled, you buy stuff from the server with your C-Bills, sell stuff to the server for C-Bills if you want, or maybe you don't even sell stuff. IDK. If anyone has any official links about player resources in the game other than C-Bills, could you please link that?

4th, We probably haven't heard much about Community Warfare for at least 2 reasons. 1: They're focusing on completing the game they intend to launch with before hashing out the stuff that's supposed to come out after the game is released. 2: Discussions such as these may have given them a LOT to think about when creating their game. TBH I'd be rather concerned if I had to try and make a goon-proof meta game.

5th, Most importantly, I appreciate and read all of the goons concerns threads for 1 simple reason. It's these imaginative worriers/concerns that CREATE new insights into how the game mechanics could possibly be taken advantage of. And I think that is important for the Dev's to see. The more proactive everyone is about debugging the game, the less there will be for anyone to imaginatively take advantage of. And I think that is the #1 most effective way to prevent the Goons from having an unfair impact on this game.

6th According to the Podcast, Goons are starting Cappellan, and aiming their sites on Davion. Which really does support the theory of them playing the role of the "bad guys", since according to the pod cast they wanted to hurt Davion because that's where they feel all the goody two shoes will be.

EDIT: Fixed, thanks.

I have been playing eve online since mid-2009 on a regular basis.

The goons in eve are annoying and deserve whatever punishment anyone is able to level against them. They are also one of the reasons eve online is great and I hope they never leave the game.

As for mechwarrior, I hope they have the ability to become a significant force in the "community warfare" part of the game.

Just because they outnumber you and are well organized (sometimes) doesn't make them wrong. What it will do is force opposing factions to form, organize well, and rise to meet them on the field. That kinda sounds exactly like "community warfare" to me.

The trick will be balancing things so that the more casual players can easily get pickup games at any time without the "community warfare" part of the game having so significant an impact that they are unable to quickly get a fun game. I'm sure the developers will be able to manage that. After all the main point of this whole thing is a mech combat simulation, right?

Hmm...listened to the Mittani \ Goonswarm podcast from No Guts No Galaxy and they seem....okay.
So i'm gonna say let's give em a chance like everyone else...just...keep a comstar tap on em :P

But knowing they follow no real code of honor\moral\ethics (whatever you call it) but instead "just" going for the win no matter the cost, could make the community interaction with them hard. I can see the point tough. A win is a win is a win.

Awww... I think the goons are fun. It's like playing with matches, addictive and you still do it everytime.
