Defeat all that oppose the Dragon.
Nice hardware though, something worth the hunt to capture

I will willingly take their PPCs, slap them onto my Awesome, and point them right back at them.

They have some interesting tech, and I actually enjoy the story aspect of the clans, but I have no real interest in actually fighting from their side of things.

Take yourself AND this question too seriously, much?

Tis funny how many people have no ability to look at htings in a light hearted manner. It's nice to see people who can't tell these things. *rolls eyes*

(of course, that DOES fit perfectly with the Jade Pigeon mentality)

Yeah. The problem is that there are WAY too many people who don't take things like this light hearted. And its kinda hard with just txt. Besides, I'm a clanner. Since when do we have an in depth sense of humor?

There is only one clan for which I would jump ship. Clan Wolverine. Born from the 331st royal BattleMech Division of the SLDF.

That would be an interesting thing, especially thinking about where they finally wound up.

With the Blakists? :)

Quote

The Five, also occasionally called The Hidden, are five secret worlds or facilities controlled by ComStar and later, Word of Blake, that played a key role in the Jihad.

-----

Information indicating the existence of the The Blood, a rumored cabal of Clan Wolverine descendants hidden within the ComStar organisation, refers to The Five falling under the control of The Blood during the reign of Raymond Karpov.

After the organisation's schism, the knowledge and control of these worlds went with the Word of Blake faction and the remaining secular ComStar order was entirely unaware of their existence.

Pre-Blake-Time. Read: Early ComStar, if we put 1&1 together the Wolverines were possibly a primary source for the ComStar Mechs found in the great caches on Terra (discovered during the Steiner-Davion wedding), therefore a main source for the mechs used on Tukayyid. (at least they or their data files probably led ComStar to more hidden SLDF Mech Caches)
Ofcourse they (or the ones who took control of them to be more precise) were probably also a main source for the more religious roots in Comstar, but that could make for an interesting game and difficult mission decisions if really an all-out war would be portrayed in the game. I would like an inside-view of Operation Scorpion for a change.

And yes, I know of the things you are hinting at, I've read my sourcebooks :)

I will only use Clan tech, when I can afford to load my Catapult with Clan tech, No one will challenge the might of the Crimson Alliance.

No I won't jump ship, what I'll likely do is create a 2nd account for the purpose of going CSJ. Even then I'll play an Inner Sphere jock that's worked his way up from Bondsman (Yeah, I know, extremely rare when concerning the Jags.)
Even then, I see myself playing Davion 80% of the time.

What I would like them to do is allow for more than one 'Character' per account. Not that excited about spending money on two different accounts.

I've been lurking a lot, so I guess it's high time I post.

My first Mechwarrior was MW2...playing as the Clans. MW3 was my favorite MW...playing against the clans, salvaging my favorite Clan mechs. I didn't play TT until after I tried MW2. Naturally I went for the clans.

It wasn't that the tech was better, I prefer a LL to a CERLL because heat. Hell when the clan invasion starts in MWO and I can get my hands on a 'wolf I'll swap out those ERLL on the prime for regular LL...and a few other things, but I digress. Point is I started with the clans, I'll end with the clans....or Wolfs Dragoons

I won't be jumping ship, I'll be going home.

The call of the wolf beckons. Little do you realise I conquer you for your own good over that of my other brethren.

I've said this in another thread, and I'll say it again.

SCREW DA CLANNERS!

Only in the Lyran Alliance do you get pre-battle parties, mid-battle parties and post-battle parties.

Besides, I'm a Blakist at heart.

The inner sphere Freeborn dogs have always said such things and have had such ideals. wah we don’t need better equipment wah wah, we will keep are pure blood line and lineage clean of any freeborn stench mech, An atlas can never compare to a daishi you talk about hunchbacks taking out timberwolfs when you forget where the mighty thor came from your pint size version that you call a hunchback cannot stand up to its awesome power. You inner sphere dogs will see when the time comes Clan wolf will rise again!!

To be true to the lore, the IS should get stomped for a bit. The IS vs clan battles need to have the objectives tweaked to make this work in game. For example, defending an objective may be easier. Or maybe all IS Mecha get a free respawn (reinforcements) in a fight. In this way, the clans will generally "win" in terms of raw kills but they won't get the mission win.

Clanners rock. When do we get Elementals??

How about a non- tech only reason? I am not interested in the Clans due to their 'toys' but the factions culture and lore. Their toys I prefer due to the looks of them and not due to the tech on them.

Seyla CoffiNail !!

I did not bother to vote since its slanted so anti Clan.

My sig says it all.

I have to love the Clans myself. They were the stars of my first b-tech book back in the day, but really I hope it doesn't come to this game. With this set-up it would completely lack the terror and intimidation factor of when the clans first arrived. Come on, we all know what the mechs are, so there goes not knowing what the f*** that thing is, and you'd have to balance them mechanically speaking. Clan mechs were not balanced, the first time the Kell Hounds tangled with them they realized that the clan tech didn't play by the same rules and got mauled, and that was fine for a story. Even NPC mechs would be hard to manage for the same reasons as players...more manageable though. Leave the clans out of it for now, says I. There is enough Inner Sphere murdering for all of us.
