We are taking steps to fix this (Phase 1 will be soon, in fact) but a lot of this is player perception. I play outside of groups 99% of the time, and in the last two weeks I've played against a grand total of two premades. Today I played 20 matches just to see; got zero.
It can be frustrating to lose like that, sure, but what people often forget is they're losing because they literally do zero group work. No-one uses C3, no-one even uses text chat. Then they get picked apart one by one. I managed to get a random group of guys to talk and we beat an actual premade (one of those two I faced) because a lot of the guys there were great players, they just needed a good leader.
And no, I don't mean yelling at people who don't listen to you ![](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png)
hai, as mentioned perception is someone's reality though. I have been in PUG groups who rolled other pug groups, sometimes with lots of text chat (shudders, as one time it caused me to walk into a cross fire with lots of S and X on the screen). Then having to hit T (T SHOULD be default for Team, not Y for Yell at team
![:D](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.png)
) to see what the faded text said. And the last few days I have encountered 3 vet teams (your pre-made
![:(](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.png)
) and beat one out of the three. The other one we had 3 suicide runs and one apparent DC while the last match the entire team went in different directions, with a pair of "pre-made" off hiding behind some buildings.
C3, afaik, only works automatically if it has been setup, that option is clicked AND everyone is actually grouped before the drop. It does not group PUGs together automatically. If it does I have totally misread that thread.
As for in combat text, it needs lots of work. It should NOT fade out. There should be at least two "monitors", one showing actual game chat and the other one with all the xp/deaths/kills/etc, and again, it should NOT fade.
I agree though, people make too much out of the vet units. We are not ready for CW, at least faction and unit designation/drop selection, not with the selfish people who look for the loopholes that benefits only themselves and frak up their team mates.
I am actually running two accounts, one a founder and one non-founder. I enjoy piloting both the surplus mechs and the founder/purchased mechs. For me it has always been about the challenge with piloting different mech setups and how best to utilizing them that benefits both my team and myself.
