You might be a Lyran if...
  • Your 'mech lance or company comes in, each 'mech with four speakers blaring 'flight of the valkyries' over the battlefield
  • Your somehow related to the Archon that you can back up with piles of money
  • You read a history Tri-Vid about the 21st century's 'Richest Man' and laughed when they pulled up Bill Gates
  • Your Assault 'mech has four AC/5s and a gigantic AC/20 on it's shoulder, that all fire money rounds
  • You actually think Golden Ammo is better then regular Ammo
  • Your mother paid for you to get your General Position
  • You wish you could donate some money to the leader of the Capellans 'to help get him out of the slums'
  • The first thing you did when you saw a Clanner was if you could buy his Timber Wolf instead of destroying it
  • Asking if said Timber Wolf could be reinforced to be 100 tonnes
  • And then firing your money rounds when the Clanner said no.

You might be a Lyran.... If you think it was Aliens.

You might be a Lyran if when you were told as a youngster in cinematography class you were too recreate a movie from the 20th century, you used your Atlas in a remaking of King Kong.

You might be a Lyran if:

You think the NAIS is a huge waste of your tax money.

You believe that Victor Davion is determined to blow up all his family members.

You're certain that "The Daily Scandal" is a perfectly legitimate news vid publication.

You have ever used the term 'Atlai' to describe more than one Atlas in a sentence.

You're not certain why other houses use 'mechs weighing under 80 tons.

You're sure that the two Griffins posted either side of the throne on Tharkad are a sign of lax security.

You describe the aftermath of a large scale 'mech battle as a "Götterdämmerung", but everyone else just thinks you're cursing.

The only beer you'll drink is Timbiqui Dark, the cost be damned.

You received your last promotion at a cocktail party.

You own a 'mech... and a planet.

You've had it with these ************* Snakes stomping across your ************* plains!

You might be a Lyran if you use a Commando as a hood ornament for your Atlas.

You might be a Lyran if you bought the military academy you attended so you could graduate.

You might be a Lyran if gaining the Midas Touch lowered your net worth.

You might be a Lyran if you didn't know that the word "house" meant more than a recognized family of nobles.

This topic makes me scared of myself, I also may be a lyran, because I think like this:
  • perfect weapon for a Locust is a AC20
  • replaces life support, sensors and cockpit for extra AC20 shells
  • one AC20 is good, but more is better
  • what is weight limit?
And you have something like this as a schematic for your new mech..

you forgot attempting to assassinate your fiancee.

assassination is not a Lyran exclusive.
But we are the only house that considers a commando to be a fashionable accessory. (Mine has a paint job that matches my Zeus.)

Okay. I am a Lyran then, cause at the beginning of matches I constantly talk about how I would love a Jump Jet Atlas.

You know you are a Lyran if you designed and played a variant of the Shadow Hawk that mounted a Sniper Artillery Cannon, and made a miniature of the same. And really wish PGI would include the SAC in MWO so you can make said variant in game.

If you spill your drink on your commander. So he thinks your incompetent and assigns you to a backwater sector away from the clan invasion.

Later that month you read a report stating that your commander was killed by a unknown bandit force up in sector G. That your new commander wants you to attend the next dinner function at Lord McDougal's home estate.

That evening you spill your wine on him so he believes your incompetent and send you back out to a backwater sector away from the clan invasion.

Repeat at next party. But, be careful who you spill your drink on, and join the Intelligence division so you know were enemy troop movements are going before you spill your wine all over a Commander.

Another good tactic is the bump a junior officer in the back so he spills on the commander. That way you can then discipline him, and let him off the hook later on so he owes you a favor.

Also good tactic Send a SGT. in your uniform to the party let him get drunk and make a fool out of himself. Claim ignorance the next time you see your Commander. "But sir I was never at the party you must be mistaken."
