Colors are coded to the UI2.0 Mechlab colors.

Keeping a different color scheme to spite PGI or something would seem silly to me.

please change the colors back, the new colors are awful :\

I'll get use to it, but the classic colors for smurfy was better than the MWO implementation (nice thought, but PGI got the colors wrong IMO).

PGI changing the established colors is whats silly.

Its like if you suddenly changed traffic lights to blue, purple, and orange overnight for NO reason.

I don't like the colors either. They are so dull, they just seem to all blend together. :huh:

About the colors, i hear you i also don't like them.

but i think we should keep them anyway, because they are the same ones as in-game. don't know why they did not use the already established colors but thats pgi :rolleyes:.

I used the colors from Ohm's sheets back in the day (October 2012 or so :D)
also the reddit guy's liked them ^^ (i anounced the update there this time)

I want to go directly to the CTF-4X part of the forum without unnecessarily searching for it.

I want that too, but it's a bit tricky because i don't know know the mechspecs url. I have some ideas to get the correct mechspecs uri but i'm not ready yet.

I get why the changed colors, but I feel like I'm looking at the site under a blacklight. It makes me sad and gives me the munchies. :rolleyes:

But the functionality is still as solid and simple as ever. Keep up the good work.

Ok but... you should put it back. Don't let PGI think those color are accepted. Please? Pretty please?

Here... I'll give you a puppy.

Please?

I know most of us are still trying to get PGI to follow your example for that Mechlab layout design.

PGI has already announced plans to release an overview-style mechlab during one of the March patches. You can't be "still trying" to get them to make a decision they've already made. The reason that it's not out yet is that it wasn't finished in time for the UI 2.0 launch, and they decided that making the deadline was more important to the player base than implementing the overview right away.

I see your puppy and raise you the pug that tangentially inspired the dashboard pug.

And I fully support PGI and their intention to make the Mechlab useable again.

oops, I found a little problem and adjusted the code I posted earlier (which is now deleted).

A quick small change that makes it looks better right away is to use black as background color for slots:

from:

.slot {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #292929;
border: 1px solid #515151;
height: 23px;
width: 148px;
}

to:

.slot {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #000000;
border: 1px solid #515151;
height: 23px;
width: 148px;
}

The rest looks fine, except maybe the purple that is too dark, I wish it was yellow like before, much more visible.

PGI do you read me? ;)

Hey Smurfy, would you consider adding social and discovery features to you website? Like letting people rate and comment on builds and adding "Most viewed builds today/this week/this month". I think it would be great if people could actually discover builds on your website rather than just create and share privately.

I know people can use Mechspecs instead, but a forum structure is hardly ideal for this kind of thing. Battleclinic, although dated, for EVE is a good example.

Hi,

is there a way to know how many damage points a build does at selectable distances? Not only for the alpha but also by weapon.

ex.: I have 2 ERPPC, a PPC and a GAUSS.... how many damage if I hit an enemy at 1000 meters? In this way I can discover that it's useless to fire the PPC.

Best Regards

Hey Philipp! Just while I was about to post a script to fix the slots background color, I reloaded a build before posting and saw you made the change I suggested. Well you went for #111111 instead of #000000 but it's already looking much better.

Thanks

Well that's good! Good, good... but uhh... still doesn't explain why they changed the color, or even mention why the changes to it.

Nonetheless... we can't let them think it's acceptable, this is more about the color than anything else.

I'm unclear why it is unacceptable for PGI to change the color scheme of their own game.

Unacceptable, no... unnecessary, perhaps.

EDIT: BTW, tweaking the colors to each individuals liking can be accomplished through likes of Stylish (CSS tweaker for Firefox/Chrome/etcetera) or something similar.

EDIT 2: Ugh, I couldn't help myself... added classic color theme to userstyles.org

yea, i started around 9 month ago to build some kind of search, but i had huge performance problems. i wanted to rebuild it but never found the time to do so.

But i'm thinking about some kind of tracking of build loads. (only have them in google analythics) and i use heavy caching so the app server does never see the request once it's cached.

Technical background:
All builds are stored in json in the database so i build an indexing script which writes all data to a Zend_Lucene File.
Problem is, that searching the file is quite slow (because it needs to be opened every time) I planned to switch to solr but had no time. The frontend part is also partly done.

Thank you for the tip, in making the backround darker. i choose #111 instead of #000 because i wanted it no too dark.
